Cotton Rich A-Line Midi Skirt

I had to buy a size smaller because my usual size was too big. I brought a size 8, and am happy how the skirt fits on me. The quality of the material is very good, but a bit long on me as I am petite in height. This is another good buy from marks and spencer.

I bought this full price a couple of weeks ago, haven't worn it and see it is in the sale. Oh well. But I think I am pleased with the purchase overall. The shape, length and colour - pale yellow - are all easy to like. I think it will look very nice in the summer with hopefully a bit of a tan and a loose dark top. The only gripe I have really is no pocket. It would be a bit hard to fit one on this shape but a patch pocket on the back would do. I may even sew one on if I can find the right piece of material. The reason is I go everywhere with my mobile phone rather than a handbag. It is so annoying not to be able to slip that into a pocket.

Some things about this skirt were great -a very good design in good quality fabric and a great colour. On the model, who is taller than me, it looked generously cut and a good length - unfortunately the skirt I received was short and rather skimpy-looking. The stated length is 76cm - mine was 67cm from underband to hem, which I have always understood to be the correct way to measure a skirt's length. This was presumably measured including the deep waistband but was still only 74cm. So disappointing to look forward to receiving purchases and then to have to send them back.

This had all the makings to be a lovely skirt, but on ordering a size 12, the hips were tight but a reasonable fit, but the waist was just......huge!! I am now at such a loss as to what size I need to order to get a good fit from anyone!! :(

This is difficult one, the design and fit,plus colour are good, BUT material not good, texture odd, good for special occasions, not a everyday skirt, which I wanted, it’s lovely to have this style back, but softer material please.

My only criticism is that the skirt isn't lined, Aside that it skirt is perfect in every way - colour, material, shape, style are all on point!!!

This is why I love M&S! This skirt is so simple but very well cut A-line shape can be dressed up for work or down with a t-shirt for casual wear so great value for money.. I ordered my usual size 12 and it fits perfectly. Love the simple style with small side slits and I ordered the khaki colour. Fabric does not need a lining or slip so this is great. I think this is the sort of skirt you'll be wearing for years.

I kept this over the similar M&S collection skirt. It's neat round the waist, goes with everything, suits a pear shape, could be worn smart to work or casual with sandals and t shirt. I have had a really hard time finding a skirt this winter so I kept it. But I don't love it. Like the previous reviewer I find the fabric a bit stiff and I also feel it's a slightly awkward length. It's long for a midi but short for a maxi. So I'm keeping it in the wardrobe and hanging on to the receipt for a few days!

I liked the colour and the style of the skirt but the material was thick and looked very stiff. I have returned this as |I also thought it would be very difficult to iron.
