Take the Day Off™ Charcoal Cleansing Balm 30ml

I didn't like this... I got a sample tub and gave it a whirl, but I would not spend money on this. I don't like the "balm" nature of the product; I much prefer Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish lotion texturally. It takes some effort to pick up enough product to wash your face, without digging into it. I didn't like the smell. The charcoal comes through in an unpleasant way. That said, I'm giving it 3 stars because it did do an indisputably fantastic job melting my make up. My skin didn't feel particularly moisturised afterwards - but that's not super surprising for an oily skin product... Will eventually finish my sample. But not one I'd recommend...

Being a big fan of the existing cleansing balm, I decided to try the charcoal one when it was released. I've been very disappointed with it and wouldn't purchase it again. I'll revert to the normal one. I just don't find it as effective as the original one.

I use a number of Clinique skincare and makeup products and was recently given this as a sample to try, as I was looking for a new night time cleanser (currently use something else). I was genuinely amazed at how effective this was. Takes everything off, makeup, sunscreen, you name it and all in one go. Excellent product. Thanks Clinique!

I have really oily skin and unfortunately with oily skin often results in larger pores that can appear clogged etc. I used the original balm for about 7 months and loved it but noticed the release of the new charcoal cleansing balm for oily skin/pore prone skin to help draw out impurities for pores and wanted to try it when my old tub was finished. I have been using the charcoal balm for 2 weeks now and can confidently say I have noticed a difference in pore size and most of all, dirt control. I used to hate looking at my skin after I cleansed makeup off as no matter how much I used to try and scrub, wipe, cleanse, exfoliate - everything - my pores STILL looked clogged and dirty!! I don't often write reviews but feel this was necessary, really would love a full range for pore prone skin to complete the package. I truly feel like Clinique have cracked it with this one!

Received this as a sample Love this new cleanser - finally a cleanser that not only removes all my makeup it deep cleans my skin, leaving it smooth and soft at the end of the day.

This balm felt lovely and soothing on my skin (which is SUPER dry at the moment, as I've been using topical acne treatments!). I let it sit on my skin for a few seconds before rinsing away. It was comfortable and light, but very effective.

I am a mega fan of the Original Take the day of balm which I use to remove my make up and as my first cleanse on days I wear make up. This product feels just as good and does the job, however I feel the charcoal gives me an extra benefit of drawing out impurities.

Loved this, my makeup just melted away when I used this, such a great alternative to using micellar waters and my skin felt really smooth and hydrated afterwards

I'm a big fan of the original balm and use it daily. It is the best make up remover product I have ever tried, and I tell everyone to use it. This new version is just as good, my only comment would be that due to the charcoal it can leave a darker residue on the face so needs to be cleansed off after. I would use either product though and always swear by them!
