Product code: 00026376
This superbly structured Pinotage offers complex aromas of sour cherries, strawberries and plums with spicy undertones. The balanced medium-bodied palate reveals ripe fruit and savoury notes over a soft oaky finish.
Pinotage is South Africa’s very own grape variety, a cross of Pinot Noir with Cinsault (at the time known as ‘Hermitage’) created in 1925 by Abraham Izak Perold, the first Professor of Viticulture at Stellenbosch University. This vibrant red expresses the grape in its most classic profile: a deep and enticing wine with complex savoury depths and masses of red fruit exuberance. Sourcing fruit from vineyards in Paarl and Stellenbosch, winemaker Erika Obermayer matured a portion of the wine in seasoned oak barrels for 10 months to soften and harmonise the complex flavours.

Cracking Pinotage
Yes, I recommend this
This is really nice - fruity, good structure and smooth. Great wine to have with or without food or just watching a film. We left half a bottle for a couple of days and when we came back to it, it was even more smooth!
