Product code: 00593083
A classic, top quality red Bordeaux: well-balanced with fine tannins and elegant concentration. Hints of cassis fruit are under-pinned by fine oak and cedarwood notes.
The St-Estèphe appellation of Bordeux has always been highly acclaimed for its well-structured, seductive reds. This superb example was made by Eric Boissenot from a 7 hectare plot of 30 year old vines. The blend is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, which gives fine body and classic blackcurrant flavour, 35% Merlot for softer roundness and 5% Cabernet Franc for freshness. The wine was matured in a mixture of new and older French oak barrels for 12 months to add complexity and help integrate the supple tannins. The wine has been minimally treated to preserve the flavour and may throw a harmless deposit.
