For much of the year, our bestselling men’s socks are a must in our less-than-tropical climes. But occasionally in spring, summer and pockets of autumn, the mercury rises above 15˚C and, as soon as it does, I can’t wait to flash my ankles. I’m aiming to mimic the effortlessly chic chaps from the continent, with their rolled-up trousers and bare ankles. Their secret weapon? Invisible socks or trainer liner socks. Slip them over your toes and heel, and all the rubbing and odour you usually suffer from going sans socks disappears, just as quickly as the liners vanish into your loafers, trainers or, if you’re feeling fancy, brogues.
