STYLISH KNITWEAR:
OUR BEST WINTER JUMPERS

Wrap up warm with our selection of cute and cosy sweaters

The sleeveless jumper

Banish any thoughts of your dad’s dodgy tank top from the 1970s – the sleeveless jumper is back and, this season, it’s the epitome of cool. If you’re brave enough to bare your arms (i.e., you’ve got guaranteed central heating all day), then wear with wide-leg trousers. When it’s cold, layer a sleeveless knit over a long-sleeve shirt or midi dress for an extra cocoon of warmth.

The hoodie

We’re thrilled to live in an age where everything from track pants to trainers are considered chic. That of course extends to the humble hoodie, which has been firmly transported from our loungewear wardrobes into the realm of fashion, and therefore been reinvented in a range of colours, fabrics and shapes. A bright hoodie layered underneath a trench coat is the perfect autumn look, and we’ll be snuggling down for winter evenings in a luxurious cashmere knit.

The roll-neck jumper

Not so much a trend as a perennial style classic, the roll-neck jumper is a winter must-have (especially for those of us who shudder at the very thought of a chilly neck). Choose between slim-fitting ribbed jumpers, which look great worn with midi skirts and trousers, or a chunky roll-neck, perfect to balance out skinny jeans or cigarette trousers.

The cashmere crew-neck

For knitwear that will last you a lifetime, look no further than cashmere. Looked after properly, a cashmere jumper will last for years – which is why a timeless shape such as the classic crew neck is a great choice. The other brilliant thing about cashmere is its warmth – despite being lightweight, it has a very high insulation factor, which means it’s ideal for keeping you snug when the cold starts to bite.
