Accurate sizing. Comfortable fit. Good quality material. Hard wearing. Don’t like the drawstring on the outside at ankle height (prone to snagging). Would appreciate greater colour range and four way stretch.

I bought my first pair of zip-off trekking trousers from M&S way back in 2012 and I have to say they were excellent. Back then the material was quick dry and soft against the skin. The back pockets had zips on them as did one of the cargo pockets meaning that you could be sure nothing would fall out. More importantly back then M&S recognized that there are actually people who are taller than 6ft. The two pairs I bought in 2012 had an inside leg of 35 inches which fitted me perfectly for length (I'm 6'2" so hardly a giant). Since then you've not made a pair with a longer leg than 33" which is annoyingly just too short. If only I'd known back in 2012 that the standard was going to go down so dramatically I'd have bought 10 pairs at the time! The pair I've just purchased are at least made from a decent material but the other faults remain. Poppers have replaced zips on most of the pockets and at 33" leg they are frustratingly a bit short (although ok if wearing boots rather than trainers). My biggest gripe is the method for narrowing the bottoms with a plastic drawstring. As this is on the outside it sticks out and catches on everything. Walking past brambles is a nightmare and I wouldn't like to try riding a bike in them. Aside from that they're ok I suppose. If you could re-engage the designer from 2012 and make a similar pair in style with a long leg they'd be much more practical and probably sell more. Actually stocking them in your stores would help too, the current version are only available on-line, what's that all about?! For reference these are what you should go back to making as they're simply the best pair of outdoor trousers I've ever had: Blue Harbour Trek Trouser Quick Dry Fabric Lightweight fabric Breathable, machine washable Inside Leg 35" Marks & Spencer Product Ref - 4982 203 T17 07303/5026X Bring those back and I'd buy loads of them!

Not as good as previous purchases of similar, less expensive zip offs. These need ironing after washing. Nice colour though and good fit
