At the lower end of the scale, 450-600 GSM signifies a lightweight towel: good value and quick-drying, with added benefits such as low-twist yarn to make them feel more like their heavier-weight counterparts. At the higher end of the scale, 600-800 GSM signifies a heavier, more luxurious towel. The pile in these deluxe towels is denser and more lavish. Towels at the lower end of this range are great for everyday use, while those at the higher end resemble the towels you’d find in a luxury hotel.

Worst Towel Ever

No, I don't recommend this
I purchased 2x of the Navy version of the Abstract Shimmer Towel and they have been nothing but a disappointment. Had them for about 6 months now and they are basically unusable, as whenever I try to dry off with one, the towel sheds fibres all over me and I have to shower them off - and use a different Towel to dry with. The Towel itself doesn't actually dry very well, and seems to just brush the water off you more than anything. Also the Shimmer Effect on the edging is actually quite abrasive on the skin, so you have to be careful when using it. In short - not fit for purpose.

Lovely appearance but poor absorbency

These towels look lovely with the shimmery thread running through them. However, the patterned side isn’t very absorbent at all despite washing them three times to remove any newness. The long edge is rather rough and scratchy from the thread if you run that along your body when drying. Disappointed as these aren’t the cheapest of towels.

Great towel, with added silver thread interest. Purchased in the sale so, then it was good value.

The only good thing I can say about these towels is they look nice. Blue fluff is still coming off them even after washing numerous times, leaving us looking like Smurf’s! Do not buy unless your happy being covered in blue fragments!

These are really wow towels. Super soft (no scratchy sparkly bits) and very elegant. The only problem is deciding which colours to buy - I opted for grey and navy. The grey is very subtle sparkle, whilst the navy is a bit more bling (the darker towel sets of the silver shimmer backing). Please make a matching bath mat M&S!
