Suede Hobo Bag

A total waste of money. My 6th day of using this bag. Looks like something I found in a bin. It’s an embarrassment. The metallic paint has faded and has fallen off in many places. I am going to buy myself a new holiday bag. This will go in the bin where it belongs tonight. At this price I expected some M and S quality. Totally let down. M and S may not be the most stylish shop but I have always thought the quality was guaranteed. How did this ever make its way onto the shop floor? Is there no quality control?

I bought this bag in March and finally got round to using at the end of May as it’s very much a summer bag. Unfortunately between then and beginning of August the seams on the handles have split and are coming apart. This is not the standard of quality I expect from an M&S item especially considering the price point of £79. I’m in the process of returning the bag for them to review it. I wouldn’t recommend buying it which is a shame.

Had my eye on this bag for a while, I did see it in store and liked the quality and style. I did read the reviews and was not put off by some comments. I am very pleased with my purchase specially with 20 per cent off. It is quite a large bag and can carry a lot of things. It is a soft floppy bag. Quite light to carry.

Love the bag, style, colour but sadly the colour is wearing off in parts on the bag. I have only used it a handful of times so think I may have to return or exchange for another in the hope the colour will remain. Bag could also do with a little more shape/structure as it is very soft.

Lovely colour, style and material. Only gripe was the bag was very large in real life. Had to sadly return as I like a smaller handbag but would buy in a slightly different style. Ideal if your looking for a large shopper.

Fell in love with this bag so I ordered this on line ... However I have had this bag for a week now and having to return it ... just so disappointed with the quality ... already the metallic leather is coming off ... no lining inside the bag and no bottom to it ... for a pricey bag and from M and S you would expect better quality ... such a shame ..

Bought this as soon as I saw it as it's exactly the type of bag I love. Have used it virtually daily for the last two weeks and despite its delicate appearance, it has 'worn' well with no real problems. I decided to write this review, however, merely to ask M&S handbag designers to ensure that in future all their bags (especially large ones like this) include a mobile phone pocket. Can't believe that in this day and age they did not think of this. I'm no young mobile addict but a 74 year old grandmother, and I feel the omission spoils one of the nicest bags M&S have made for a long time.

I had a similar bag before and liked when the metallic suede became a little "weathered" -- it adds to the look. The leather on this bag is soft and I love the shape and reinforced straps, but needed a support at the base of the bag. If I put something slightly heavy and hard into the bag -- like a cell phone or wallet, the items will fall to the bottom with hard corners stretch the leather into bulging in weird bumps at the bottom of the bag. Its fine for carrying soft, light things, maybe a cardigan or pashmina, but if you habitually carry a cell phone, wallet and Kindle as well as a small make up bag like I do, then it will not work. The leather is soft and too thin without some sort of reinforcement at the bottom!

This is a great bag and hold loads. Great value and especially with 20% off with my Birthday treat from M&S! I would say the colour is a champagne gold but will go with everything and is my Summer 2019 handbag. I don’t mind that it is not lined and doesn’t have ‘feet’ that’s it’s style and nothing to do with quality etc.

Love this bag. Quality is great and can’t wait to use it in the summer
