I have two pairs of M&S linen trousers bought in the last ten years...the notable difference ? These use borderline indecently thin linen for men's trousers. The older pairs are signfiicantly more substantial. Would rather pay more for decent weight linen.

Good quality, feel good to wear, cool and comfortable. The 'semi-elasticated' waist doesn't do very much, you'll probably still need a belt. Or braces. But probably not both.

An excellent lightweight pair of trousers that look great in the pure linen material. Lightweight cool and looking smart with a short sleeved shirt for a summer evening. Really comfortable.

Bought for an additional pair of linen trousers during the first heatwave of 2026. Avoided anything other than pure linen, despite knowing they would crease up quickly, which they do. The elastic waist means a belt is optional. Yes, they are exactly what I expected, cool to wear with that comfortable feeling on hot days. Surprised that they are machine washable whereas another pair of M&S linen trousers I have are dry clean only. This allows for regular refreshing cleans. Reasonably priced and pleased with my purchase.

Bought for my dad who, after recent illness, cannot manage fiddling with belts but likes the opening of button and fly to do up trousers. These give both secure fitting and button, and hang nicely while being light weight for hot weather. Good job, M&S!
