I am really disappointed with these period knickers. They do not absorb like other brands & sits on top of the gusset. The stitching is really raised and uncomfortable too.

I expected the fabric to be cotton and it was not, instead it was a flimsy silky fabric that felt like it would easily tear and be incredibly slippery and uncomfortable. They have therefore been returned as not at all suitable.

I regularly use the cotton version of M&S period pants for little 'old lady leaks', but as they tend to be in darker colours I thought these might be good for the warmer months when lighter colours are less likely to show through cotton trousers and dresses. Unfortunately, I am disappointed as the fit is very odd; tight around the leg holes and loose around the waist / hips. This causes movement in use, rather than the snug fit which is really essential to the purpose of the garment. I found I was constantly having to hitch them up and twist them back into place. I'll be sticking to the standard cotton version of these rather than these 'no VPL' ones, but I think it would be helpful if M&S could provide them in multi-packs of skin tones ready for the summer.
