Smoothing Shaving Soap & Bowl Set

Can't comment on the product itself as its for a Christmas print but hugely dissatisfied that it had large safety labels plastered over it which were impossible to remove. No alternative but to gift it .

All the effort has gone into the packaging. It looks nice, but there’s hardly any fragrance, it makes very little lather, and the disc of soap rattles around the metal dish as it’s too small. Unusable.

My wife bought this for me as I do buy M&S aftershave etc. I have used this twice now and these are my thoughts. The soap has a pleasant scent and lathers very quickly plus it also does feel quite slick. Unfortunately the lather dissipated just as quick. During a 3 pass plus pickups shave I found it nessesary to apply lather 7 times. This may sound extreme but by the time I had shaved my face I had to apply again to shave my neck so twice for each pass plus once for pickups. If the dissipation could be rectified I would say yes it is a nice soap.I have been shaving for many years and have quite a few different soaps so I am not totally inexperienced. I had been say to the staff I was surprised they didn’t stock shaving soap for some time so was quite excited to try it nbut will not be buying again In it’s current form.

Can’t believe this actually has some positive reviews, as it’s the worst shaving product I’ve ever used, and I’ve been wet-shaving for years. It is almost impossible to get a lather out of it, decent or not, and what you end up with is thin and useless. The metal bowl is nice, but everything else about this product is shameful. What is going on with M&S that they sell something of such poor quality as this?

It looks great but can’t really review it as it is part of a gift for Father’s Day so hasn’t yet been used.
