I am 5’ 5” and the “short “ trousers are far too long. Why do M&S not offer trouser lengths in inches like some skirts or men’s trousers. We don’t all want to walk round with 6 inches dragging on the ground.

I haven't worn them yet but have given 5* just for the sheer joy of finding something that fits. M&S sizing, particularly leg length, is all over the place and usually I have to order 2 sizes in 2 leg lengths, and even then I often have to tweak waistband or hem. Size 12 extra short is perfect in these so I got both colours (although, tbh they're not wildly different). Nice lightweight material that will be great for holidays, or when the sun comes back to the UK. Also, I'm sure they will be quick drying and require little or no ironing.

Loved these as soon as I spotted them and they have become my go to in a cool and lightweight, easy wear, easy care, crinkle polyester fabric that doesn’t crease. The subtle (taupe or navy) stripe adds interest to the cream background. The elasticated waist fits comfortably and is not fiercely gripping, the tie is fully adjustable - there isn’t voluminous fabric that exaggerates the hips and make the stomach look bigger. I like how the fabric doesn’t stick out at an awkward angle, the drape is loose and flows nicely over the derrière without clinging to any lumps or bumps. Yes it’s a wide leg yet the style is a classic elegant summer trouser that lends itself to most ages. Ideal for travelling in and holidays but perfect also for casual wear worn with a tee shirt around town, the flowing fabric also makes it easy to dress up. True to size around the hips and length, I’m 5’2” with 28” inside leg and the short version sits perfectly at my ankle.

Lightweight comfy trousers. I wore these over the “heatwave” weekend & they were great, cool & comfortable, kept their shape & no creasing. I’ve a few pairs of linen trousers which I love but they do crease easily & need ironing. I haven’t washed these seersucker ones yet but I don’t think ironing will be needed, they’re a great shape & the short length, which is sometimes too short for me was perfect.
