Pure Silk Striped Shirt Dress

It was a lovely, good quality and classy dress, sadly had to return as I had gambled on the size 6 fitting, normally an 8,but had sold out (for the fab reasons obviously I had stated!!) Otherwise, would have been perfect.

Lovely silk but far too short! Probably suit small, short lady but not for me, though I am tall. Would be better with a nice belt rather than the tie. Short length just looks skimpy, this dress deserves to be mid calf, just knee length on me. Almost tempted to cut it down into a shirt but too expensive for that so I returned it.

Nice fabric, classic styling ... would probably look better with a contrasting belt. Good value if you managed to buy when on offer, otherwise a bit pricey.

The fit. shape and length of this dress is simply superb. The silk feels lovely. Looks great with either a cardigan or a jacket. I know one reviewer thought there was too much fabric in the skirt but I haven't found this. I am 5ft 2 and size 12. I also didn't find any "popping" over the bust either. The only thing that annoyed me was I bought it with the 20% off but the week later it was in the Sale at 50% off. That I think is appalling!

This dress looked very nice on line which is why I decided to order it, unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations when it arrived. It is pure silk, but didn't feel like silk to me, the fabric felt cheap in addition to that the cut wasn't great and it wasn't quite long enough for me either. I ordered it with the 20% sparks offer, but it still didn't justify the cost, I note that it is now in the sale, even at half price it isn't worth it which is why I have returned it. I am increasingly disappointed with the quality M & S are producing these days.

Wonderful silk material, light, hangs well. Love the different design of the navy/white stripes. Good length, long sleeves with good cuff. Because this dress buttons right down can be worn in various ways. Can be worn very smart or to look causal. Good fun inventing different ways to wear. A good wardrobe addition.

Lovely quality but have not washed it yet. Can be dressed up or down. Style suits any age group.

Just a little on the short side

Classic style, great fabric and colour. Would be very useful in my wardrobe. However, the fit was enormous on the hips and skimpy on the shoulders. Sadly I returned it

This is a very expensive dress for M&S, but I used my Sparks 20% discount and thought I could dress it up or down so get a lot of wear out of it. The fabric is beautiful and it doesn't crease. However, the buttons gaped between my breasts, even though it fitted me perfectly. I would also have liked it to have pockets in the side seams. As the sight of my bra detracted from the dress, I returned it. Such a simple design fault could so easily have been avoided. Surely the M&S designers can work out where to place a button to stop something gaping.
