Pure Cotton Poplin Vest Top

I ordered this online, and realize now I should have paid closer attention to previous reviews. Lovely top, loved the style, and the material was good, but such a bad fit. Returned immediately.

Very pleased with this top

liked this top and it goes beautifully with the cream culottes with the large buttons on the side. I am a 16 but I have a broad back so changed it for an 18 which fitted very well and felt better. A good ordering service as it only took a day for the larger size to be in the store.

Was fortunate enough to buy this in the sale. Love the quality and fit. Very versatile as you could dress it up, or wear with a Jeans.

Loved the style of this top but very disappointed with the fit. The darts around the bust just didn’t seem to be right, resulting in some of the fabric sticking out. Real shame as I loved the style but sadly had to return.

Although very well made, the odd shape definitely does not suit women like me with a bust! Too tight across the chest with darts very poorly placed. Such a shame as the shape of the armholes at the back is interesting, the material is lovely and the whole concept should have been good! Please make sure you check that a design works for all sizes M and S. I read other reviews before buying but was keeping my fingers crossed that it would be OK. No such luck!

I’ve noticed that Autograph bring out a really good, well made, cotton poplin top every summer. I always buy one because the quality is great. Last year I bought two, one in each colour it was available in. Previous years’ tops have been at the Cos end of the style spectrum: more sculptural and loose fitting, which suits me. This year, M&S must have been listening to feedback from people who want a more fitted style, and that’s what this is. As always, it’s well made with a proper French seam down the front, and the cotton is the usual high quality. I’d have preferred it if the top had been a bit more architectural and fashion forward like prior years’ efforts, but it’s nicely fitted and looks chic. The v might be a bit too deep for me (small chest, wide shoulders) but I’m keeping it anyway because quality clothes like this should be cherished.

This top is fantastic on style but strange on fit. I ordered a size 14 and a 16. The 14 was quite tight across the bust but had plenty of room around the hips. Very unusual for me. Also the bust darts are really strange. They don't follow the contour of the body in the usual place. Indeed the top pulled where you would normally see the dart and formed a sort of fold along that line. The 16 was better but a bit big and again there was the fold along the line where the dart would normally be. I loved the style and the material so much that I kept the 16 and have spent ages altering it and making the dart where the material folds. I can sew,otherwise it would have been returned. Also the photos don't show how unusual the back is.

I love this top, it is very flattering just a shame they don't do it in other colours. It is also cotton which is my favoured fabric.

Lovely black cotton/linen top good quality and nice design but was on the small size for me fit on the shoulders but was a little tight across the bust area so had to return it
