Pure Cotton Barrel Leg trouser

These are lovely barrel leg trousers sit above the ankle material is soft with a metal close at the waist. A deep khaki colour. Love them

Reviews said smart enough to wear for work - not true, clearly a denim-type material. The sizing is terrible. I wonder about the point of these reviews, when so many others say you need to size at least 1 size up & still the issue persists? Who wants to shell money out to feel fatter than they do at other retailers? M&S clothing is good quality & value & the delivery & returns system is flawless, but I went 1 size up & these only just fit me & they’re slightly uncomfortable. The fastening is also bizarre & unpleasant. Button + zip but then 2 stupid metal hooks that are difficult to slide into the clasp. All in all I wish o hadn’t ordered. I wanted trousers, not jeans, with sizing in line with other retailers & hassle free fastenings. I’m not that keen on the colour either - sort of a washed-out khaki, when I wanted a deep khaki colour, not pastel

I was really looking forward to trying a new style - other reviews warned that the waist was coming up small which forced me up to a size 22 - I am over 6' and usually size 18/20 long fits me. There is no way I would ever wear this style, the crotch was most peculiar, the trousers were short on the inside leg and totally unflattering. I will stick with my straight and wide leg styles but would have loved a new look.

Love them. Great cut and fit. Other reviewers have said they come up small. I didn’t find this.

These are fab, so glad I bought them - I also have the green pair. At 5'2" they are not quite cropped, an extra short length would be good but still better than being too long. So comfortable, they've virtually replaced my jeans. Super versatile as well, they suit a casual sweatshirt but can also be dressed up with a shirt & loafers. Sizing way off. If you can get your head around going up one or 2 sizes and repeating 'it's not me, it's M&S sizing' you'll be fine. I sized up for a looser barrel feel but not great for the ego!

I love these trousers but the cut of them meant I had to size up x I got the bigger size but they still go up my backside a bit-not a problem I have with other trousers which makes me think it’s the way they are cut x I have kept them and wear them lower on my tummy x

These are lovely quality and a good shape - but size up, these are small compared to other M&S trousers I have had recently.

I managed to ruin a pair of khaki barrels that I'd only worn a handful of times, so was on the hunt for another pair. These are perfect...but quite short, so I ended up having to get them in the longer length. Good weight to them and will last well into the winter.

The button at the top of waist band is at a slant and consequently is very very difficult to undo and do up so I am still deciding whether to keep it or not! The trousers hang nicely the length is perfect as is the colour but if I can’t do them up I won’t be wearing them will I ?

Love these trousers. Bought both green and black. Had to go up a size but very comfortable and look great.

These are ideal for work with a shirt and proper shoes, or with a sweater and trainers. The pleats around the top are just enough to make them a bit smarter, but the barrel keeps them comfortable and relaxed. Bought in black and khaki so between them they go with just about everything. Substantial fabric - I wouldn't have worn them in the heatwaves, but they'll be good for the rest of the year (the room in the keg means tights underneath are possible when it's really cold!).

Nice barrel trousers. I bought the khaki pair instore and liked them so much I bought the black online - these came up a little bigger, so worth trying on due to slightly inconsistent sizing. I like the shape, and feel they are a good smart casual alternative to my barrel jeans, which can be worn very casually but also smart enough to wear to work for me.
