Far inferior to previous batch

No, I don't recommend this
3 years ago I bought a number of these sets to use in my Bed and Breakfast - they were fantastic to wash and iron repeatedly. I have just replaced with new sets and I am extremely disappointed. Cotton quality is much more flimsy. They take an age to iron and so are not suitable for my purposes. A type of ‘shrinkflation’ where advertised and priced as same product as before but much cheaper cotton. Wish I could return.

Oh dear! The quality of this cotton is not great. Also stitching wrong in at least one place (didn’t iron it all as decided to return). I did wonder when I took it out of packaging. Cotton is thin but flabby and doesn’t iron up nicely. Unfortunately last duvet cover was similar but didn’t return.

I’m really pleased with this bedding set. It’s slightly different from the waffle bedding I’ve bought before from M&S which was also very good quality and easy to care for . The cotton is very soft and it looks really smart . The waffle has bigger squares than the one I have bought before which makes it feel ‘ softer’ .

Poor quality

My initial thoughts were that the fabric felt very soft and I liked the fact that it was a bit lighter in weight. Unfortunately when washed ready for use the general poor quality stitching and fabric cut on the bias to save cost( ie twisted edges to the pillow case) became very obvious. These are the second purchase of duvet covers in the past few weeks that haven’t worked for us.

Love this design! Very simple but effective whilst the quality of the cotton is good

Beautiful design. The duvet cover does wrinkle quite easily but I think that’s inevitable with this type of cotton. But this doesn’t detract from the overall simple beauty of this bedding.

Great quality - shame about the sizing

Frustrating to discover a duvet labelled KING size doesn’t equate to a king size duvet cover. The cover is way too large. Whatever happened to standardisation of sizes?

Disappointing quality

Bought assuming M&S quality would prevail. In reality the quality of manufacture is poor. The sewing of the border of both the pillow cases and the duvet cover has the roping effect commonly seen in cheap clothes. The corners of the Oxford type pillow cases are poorly executed and misshapen. After the first wash the ladder pattern trim between the body and the border seems to have shrunken relative the cotton body causing a gathering effect that is difficult, if not impossible, iron out. This level of quality is typical of the lower end of the market and makes this duvet set grossly overpriced. M&S needs to get a grip of quality control in its supply chain. It cannot keep on taking its customers for mugs if it wants them to remain customers.

Great quilt cover and pillow cases.

Regretfully this comes as a set with only two pillow cases. The pillowcases in super king are not sold separately as I would have preferred. 4 pillowcases the same. In fact I’m not sure M and S sell super king pillowcases at all! Shame as I will buy else where next time.

The bed set is very nice on the whole, plain and simple but the material is a bit thinner than I was expecting compared to previous sets. I haven’t washed it yet so can’t say any more.

I really like this ladder stitch cotton set. It’s not really bright white which I like. Only criticism is that it was a bit scratchy when first used even though washed first but soon softened.
