Soft not absorbent and shedding fibres everywhere

I bought the towels as I have had the bath taken out and a shower installed so decided to refresh my towels. I washed the towels before using as I always do with new towels. Unfortunately they are like drying with a teddy bear (not very absorbent) but they also shed fibres. I only hope that after the next wash they can be used as an actual towel.

I really like the look, feel and size of these towels. On the down side one of the 4 I ordered had several pulls. I kept it, just hope they all don’t pull easily as that will change my opinion on them altogether. Hoping for the best
