I loved the look of these trousers. Ordered 18 and 20 reg. I am usually an 18 in M and S garments. However, the 18s fitted beautifully on the hips but the waist was about 4ins too tight. Size 20 fitted in the waist but hips stuck out and the crotch was too low. I'm handy with a needle but because of the side pockets alteration would be too complicated.The twill linen was a great weight and the pleats hung well. With great reluctance I had to return, too expensive to just hang on to and see if in the future could sqeeze into the 18. The reg length was also too long. I'm 5ft4ins with long legs.

Absolutely beautiful trousers, well worth the price tag, especially with the 20% sparks offer. They are a lovely weight and hang well, the side pockets are a must for a “chic” look. I feel fabulous wearing them, especially teamed with a cream top and chunky gold jewellery.

I’m a size 12 in 99% of M&S clothes but these trousers fall in the 1% so I went up to a size 14 and reduced the waistband by tightening up on the second button option. I will get the hips taken in by my tailor. It’s a lot of faff but these trousers are just beautiful. The style and quality are stunning and I feel amazing in them. They look fabulous on and the linen hangs just right.
