Ways to pay

We accept the following forms of payment online and over the phone:

If you've paid by card, your transaction will show on your bank statement as 'Marks & Spencer'.

PayPal can be used to pay for all online orders – you just need to have an active PayPal account. You can use PayPal as part payment alongside gift cards and loyalty rewards vouchers and in conjunction with promotions and coupons.

When will my order be delivered if I use PayPal?

The same delivery times apply, regardless of how you pay.

When will I get my refund?

Refunds will be processed by PayPal after we've received the returned item(s). Full details can be found online in your PayPal account.

Can I exchange my item(s) with PayPal?

While we are unable to directly offer an exchange on orders placed through PayPal, you are able to return the item(s) for a refund and place a new order online.

How do I contact PayPal?

You can reach PayPal by visiting www.paypal.com/uk/smarthelp/contact-us. M&S is unable to answer any queries related to PayPal payments.

Unfortunately, we can't accept credit receipts online as they have barcodes that can only be scanned in store.

We do accept gift cards online as a form of payment.

Before shopping at marksandspencer.com/ie please ensure you have sufficient funds on your One4all card to pay for all the items in your basket as you are not able to use a second form of payment. Online orders are limited to €50.

Shopping as a guest user

When you arrive at the Payment Details screen, select Visa from 'Card type' dropdown. Enter your 16 digit One4all card number, expiry date and the CVV2 number from the back of your One4all card. You can then enter the rest of the details as required and complete the transaction.

Shopping with your M&S.com account

When you arrive at the Payment Details screen, click on 'Add a new card'. Select Visa as the card type and enter your 16 digit One4all card number, expiry date and the CVV2 number from the back of your One4all card. The click 'continue'. You can then enter the rest of the details as required and complete the transaction.

To use your staff discount online, you'll need to follow these steps:

Paper gift vouchers were issued by M&S directly to customers up until 2012 and to other businesses to 2016, and are in €1, €5, €10 and €20 denominations.

From 1st October 2025, M&S stores in the UK and Republic of Ireland will no longer be accepting paper gift vouchers as a payment type. All paper gift vouchers must be spent by 30th September 2025. Up until this date, you can spend your paper gift voucher on products in-store, or exchange the paper gift voucher for a gift card which can be used both in-store and online. If the total value of paper gift vouchers to be exchanged is €100 or less, this can be done by our colleagues in-store. If the value of paper gift vouchers to be exchanged is over €100, you should get in touch with our contact centre on +01695 0741.

Gift cards and e-gift cards can be used at marksandspencer.com/ie and in all M&S stores in the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland and the Channel Islands. This includes Outlets, Simply Food and Moto service stations, hospital, airport and train station stores and M&S cafés, but excludes BP Connect and Applegreen stores and international stores.

Please note there is a limit of 10 gift cards/e-gift cards per transaction online.

You can use your gift card/ e-gift card to buy most things online and in store. There are a few exceptions though:

Sorry, we can’t give you cash for your gift card/ e-gift card balance. Gift cards/ e-gift cards can’t be returned or refunded.

Yes, if you buy a gift card e-gift card in the Channel Islands or Republic of Ireland, you can spend it in our UK stores. These gift cards/e-gift cards will not be accepted online.

You can load a minimum of €1 and a maximum of €1,400 onto a single gift card in-store and a maximum of €500 online. You can top up your gift card/e-gift card in store at any time.

It’s best to hang on to it as you can top it up in store. Plus, if you decide to return something you bought with it, we’ll refund you to your gift card.

Your gift card or e-gift card PIN is a four or five-digit number.

For gift cards you’ll find the PIN on the back of the card under the scratch-off panel. Please take care when scratching off the panel, as damaged cards will not be accepted. Attempting to peel the panel off will destroy the PIN.

For e-gift cards, the PIN is featured on the PDF e-gift card attachment.

If your gift card was bought in store, you’ll find the balance on the gift receipt that came with your card. If it was bought online, the balance will be printed inside the presentation card behind your gift card.

You can also check your gift card balance here. Alternatively, your gift card/e-gift card can be scanned at the till in store.

A gift card/e-gift card is valid for 60 months from the last spend on it. If you don’t use it within 60 months, an remaining balance will be cancelled.

Gift cards Gift cards are credit card-sized cards which can be loaded or topped up with a value of between €1 and €1,400 (€500 online), to spend online or in store. They are valid for 60 months from the last transaction (‘transactions’ include balance enquiries). They can be ordered to be sent directly to your recipient as a gift. Gift cards can be used as part or full payment online using the 16 or 19 digit card number and four or five-digit PIN, or in store using the bar code.

E-gift cards E-gift cards are an electronic version of our gift cards which can be loaded or topped up with a value of between €10 and €500, to spend online or in store. They are valid for 60 months from the last transaction (‘transactions’ include balance enquiries). They can be ordered to be sent directly to your recipient as a gift or to yourself – all you need is a valid email address. E-gift cards can be used as part or full payment online using the 16 or 19 digit card number and four or five digit PIN, or in store by printing out the e-gift card and using the bar code on the printout.

Please note: when paying by gift card, you may also be asked to enter your credit card or debit card details. This is to prove you are over 18 and to make up the difference if there are insufficient funds on your gift card.

All standard gift card and e-gift card terms and conditions are applicable to this e-gift card. However, the card expires 35 days from the date of issue.
