These looked ridiculous on me - I wouldn’t recommend if you’re petite! Material was soft and thick, if anything too thick for hot weather.

These are great, I’ve bought the black and the creamy coloured ones. I take an 8-10 usually but needed the 10 for sure with these, I also have a reasonably small waist and if your waist isn’t small you might want to consider going up a size. The material holds its shape and is thick cotton so these are very elegant and can be worn dressy and to work. I find them very flattering. That said, the material is quite thick cotton and not flowy so if you are going somewhere where temps will be well above 30C you may want to take something lighter and more flowy, I think these could be too heavy for extremely hot weather.

High waisted pleated cotton shorts
Love the length and fit of the pleated shorts. The only issue is after sitting down for a time, not only do the back pleats go out of shape but the front ones do as well! Otherwise they are a beautiful fitting product reaching just to the top of my knee

Tried linen shorts in various styles n colours but just not right for me as a sixty something so tried these for the length as a last resort and they’re perfect. Bought in pink and in black. I’m size 12 and the 12 fit fine tho the pink is a teeny bit more snug on the waist. The fabric is slightly thick/heavy compared to linen but I’m ok with that as they look very smart with a linen vest

Lovely soft feel fabric, these shorts have really wide legs (length just sits on knee, I’m 5’ 8”) which makes them look like a skirt or culottes that are nice and cool to wear. Flattering flat pleats and darts around waistband, two flat side pockets which don’t add bulk around hips. One could very easily dress the shorts up or down, depending on footwear and top choices. Not washed them yet so will reserve judgement on quality until I do so!

These reminded me of the regulation culottes I had to wear for hockey at school. They are not Bermuda shorts in the original sense. The material is too thick for summer and I bit to far above my knee (I'm 5' 5"). I ordered two pairs and they will both be going back unfortunately.

I did like the shorts but I would have preferred them without the pleats. I am 5ft and a size 10, I bought size12 as other reviews said they were tight on the waist, size 12 fit perfectly a bit baggy on the hips. In the end I felt they would look better on a taller lady so I returned them. I

M&S sizing is all over the place. I have size 10 pink shorts from a previous year that are too big. I gave size 8 also from a previous year and they are fine. Having read comments online about sizing I ordered both sizes. The size 8 in this style was too small. With stores holding so little stock ordering online is very hit and miss. I do like the shorts so I am keeping the 10 which do allow for things to be tucked in if required.
