The slim waist option is really great. No need to gather in a large amount if excess material around the waist. Leg length is perfect and hem allows extra inch when he grows. Rated a 4 star because the material is a bit coarse but probably hard-wearing.

I bought 6-7 as my sons 5-6 were becoming snug. These have less elastic in them than the smaller size so laying them on top of each other they are literally the same waist size. My son is of average build and height, the next size up would be miles too long in the leg but I can’t imagine this size is going to fit his waist for long at all.
