I was not asked at the time of ordering which set I wanted. The brushed set did not match with my already purchased Maxim polished set. I therefore had to return the brushed set. I am disappointed that I now have to buy a larger and more expensive set to match my existing cutlery as you no longer do a Maxim 16pce polished cutlery set.

These were bought to replace an “everyday” set which had worn out. But pleasantly surprised by the quality and weight of this set. Very comfortable to hold and could be used for more formal dining. Very good value for money. Ended up buying two sets!

We wanted cutlery with a different but pleasing look. The brushed finish fits the bill. Generally feature only applies to the more expensive sets but that’s no reason for us. Possibly as there is an extra process. The items fit well in the hand with no rough edges. A good weight. Not too heavy, not too flimsy. They are classic with a change. Bought two sets to get the number needed. Only drawback is we are a bit old fashioned and like soup using round soup spoons. Not available from M&S but this gives me a challenge to find an eight piece match.
