Recently replaced the kitchen utensils and after limited use, the spoon has detached from the handle after a very short period of time.

A little larger/heavier than last set of tools

Goodness knows when I last bought my set of tools for kitchen............ and they are still good enough to go to charity shop!! However, I did notice that the new ones are a little longer, the bowls on spoons and ladle are a little larger, longer and I suspect all are a little heavier. Could this be due to fact that several men have left reviews.... and M&S are catering for larger, stronger hands, too? I know I will get used to new ones in time - tools purchased were:- ladle, slotted spoon, solid spoon, fish slice, pasta server and masher -

Great utensil

Nicely balanced, stirs well, sits on side when not in use and doesn't over balance. Nice weight and feels good quality. Hope it lasts as long as our previous utensils made of nylon only (15 years!)

Design flaw?

It seems there is small holes in the handle which I can only assume lead to a impossible to clean void. Could this harbour bacteria in a cooking utensil of all things???

I bought a number of items in the same set. Slotted spoon, ladle. Spatula etc. Delighted with the quality and look of all of these. Happy with stainless steel handles as previous set had plastic handles which were damaged easily.

My favourite Cooking Spoon

Fabulous design. This spoon is really comfortable to use. The length and weight are perfect for me - my husband likes it too. I bought the Turner in the same design and the same comments apply to it. Although the instructions say that it is dishwasher safe I shall not be putting it in the dishwasher because it has to be dried as soon as the cycle has finished and I am not always in the kitchen when it does. Therefore I shall wash it by hand and dry immediately - not a difficult job!!

Polyamide spoon with stainless steel handle

Seems like a well made product ideal for non-stick pans. The handle is a bit heavy for the head/spoon part, hence only 4 dots for functionality, but on the plus side the handle provides something substantial to hold onto. Bought with the slotted spoon and fish slice/turner of the same design which made all three excellent value (3for2). Very pleased.

So far very satisfied ,all have a strong heavy handle and appear to be well sealed to a heat resistant tool. There does not seem to any guarantee?

I have had an excellent set of M&S stainless steel utensils by my cooker for some years and very good they were too. I thought to get a new set with the business end in polyamide to protect my new pans. Sadly, I have got a little shorter while the latest utensils have grown 3", and I have had to send them back. If you are a shorty like me you may find the utensils unwieldy if not unusable. I think they look a little ungainly too.
