Pleated Mini Skirt

Absolutely lovely skirt. Looks really, formally organised informally.

I am a size 14 and bought a size 14 skirt which fitted perfectly around the waist, bum and hips. The pleats gave a lovely flowing movement as I moved. Best of all, I received several compliments from friends who said it made me look younger (as I usually wear knee length skirts).

Quite the disappointing change from the previous version of this skirt. My daughter has the earlier M&S version, bought last December (2025), and we specifically bought this one because it appears to be the same design. M&S don't appear to be selling the "old" version at all now. Unfortunately now the fabric is considerably stiffer and coarser and the skirt has nowhere near the same movement. The original version was much softer and it was fully lined however this one is unlined. Having compared the labels, the old skirt was 65% polyester, 33% viscose and 2% elastane, whereas this one is now 78% polyester, 17% viscose and 5% elastane. They look identical online, but the quality and feel are very different. My daughter has had to wear it to school, so we can no longer return it, but she dislikes it enough that she won't wear it once we can find an alternative. There's just no movement in it, it's stiff, and as a shorter skirt, you need it to fall around the hips, not just sit stiffly around them. A real shame, as the previous version was excellent.

Perfect style and fit. Well made and a good weight to hold the pleats. Can be worn through the seasons.
