The M&S Originals collection offers carefully manufactured, responsible menswear: pieces from our archive reinvented with a focus on considered design, and that pay homage to our unique legacy. The limited-edition capsule champions innovative materials such as recycled cotton, responsibly sourced leather, natural tea dyes and plant-based corozo (a material that will naturally biodegrade over time) buttons. The use of textured hopsack weave in the tailored pieces gives a relaxed feel to modern summer suiting.

New nostalgia
Inspired by a pyjama stripe found in the archive, the Resort & Romance collection combines soft, bright colours with earthy neutrals. The signature stripe runs through the collection, adding a casual, retro-inspired look to men’s shirts, knitwear and jersey tops. The garment names reflect M&S’s origins in the city of Leeds, reinforcing the collection’s links with its heritage.

Responsible style
The designers worked closely with M&S’s in-house sourcing team to create a collection that reflects the company’s history of quality and use of natural fibres. The range utilises innovative recycled and responsibly sourced fabrics, linings, buttons and threads. Recycled thread and buttons made of corozo are used thoughtfully throughout.

The models
Our M&S Originals models are people with stories of their own – creatives, vintage lovers and fashion enthusiasts including Terry Betts from styling service Thread.com; Frank Akinsete, vintage boutique owner and stylist; Moteen, menswear retail manager; and photographer Jake Collins. A cross section of ages, careers and backgrounds, the models demonstrate the wearability and suits-all styling appeal of the range.
