Inconsistent sizing

I bought a pair of these in store and they fitted really well so decided to get some more on line. They seem to be a totally different sizing to the in store pair which seems crazy, they appear to both be made in the same country so why the difference? Why aren't sizes checked by quality control?

Not as good as the old flexi fit style. Banding on legholes ‘pinches’ when stretched with wear, too long in the body. Ok if you like that kind of thing. I’ve worn M&S Flexifit undies for years, time to look elsewhere. Disappointing.

These briefs are too tight across the cheeks at the back so they do not work as no VPL underwear, very disappointing as this is the only reason I bought them.

Dreadful! Bought to smooth out my tummy and ended up creating unflattering bulging thighs instead as the leg holes as SO unnecessarily tight! These also really made me question M&S sizing as I’m an 8-10 in any trousers/jeans but a size 12 in these were far too small. I know these have slight tummy control so will feel more snug but you should be able to buy the same size you buy in other items. Disappointing.

These fit fine but ride up constantly, so are very uncomfortable to wear, and they also provide very little smoothing. They also aren’t fully invisible - you can definitely see a line if wearing under tight clothing. Wasted purchase for me.
