Pure Cotton Striped Regular Fit Top

I have ordered and returned a couple of these t shirts. I somehow cannot understand what kind of fit is intended. They are either shown in a fitted or loose fit on the model so its difficult to tell which of those fits is intended. It matters, as a fitted style is usually cut differently to a loose one. I have found my usual size 14 too loose especially the sleeves, but sizing down doesn't make the fit look any better sadly. I have looked at other positive reviews so am mystified as to why it looks so bad on me. I am tall and slim, maybe designs are changing to accommodate bigger people?
