The cotton and style are great, however there is a slight fault that I have managed to repair now. It is rather tight around the chest ! ( I’m a 32 b) I have unstitched under the arm and released the extra gathered material and fits more comfortable now.

I really wanted to love this because I love broderie anglaise and so few clothes have this. The dress material was a little stiff, which I suppose may have softened after washing BUT the BIG problem is this dress has no shape whatsoever. I bought the navy blue one & honestly it looked like I was wearing a bin bag. Come on M&S we want you to survive, but to do so you need to maintain quality & style & this dress is an opportunity missed SHAPELESS, UNFLATTERING, RETURNED.

I love pure cotton dresses and so was looking forward to receiving this one. The embroidered fabric is very nice and overall the dress is smarter so can be worn for casual or smart casual occasions. I ordered size 12 and it would have been OK - however the dress is rather straight up and down and shapeless, so did not flatter me but if you like loose fits then it will be fine. Sadly, returned.

I found the dress a bit small, and was a little tight and high on the neck, so I didn’t find it particularly comfortable, and therefore returned it.

Ok, this is made from really lovely material, love the broderie anglaise detailing and the colour. BUT...it has a very small neck, which, because it flares out at the hem, makes for a less than flattering shape. Made my hips look huge! Doesn't M&S look at the clothing before ordering it? Don't they know anything about how women want to look, or more importantly, how they don't want to look?!?

Bought the white dress in the sale, although it's more off white than white. I still like it. Bought it for next years holiday as not able to go this year through the mad world we are all living in at the moment. Great quality and comfort.

I usually find M & S dresses a bigger fit than the size so I ordered a 14 like always but found this to be a true 14. It's not tight but it does not give me as much room as a few linen dresses I have purchased in the past. Although, saying this it does fit true to size and looks lovely on a summers evening. It is lined so I found it warm and thicker than I imagined but it is still a lovely dress.

Firstly, on a positive note the size 14 fitted well and the length was ideal for me at 5ft 1inch unfortunately, that’s where it ended for me. The material was most unusual, not like any cotton I’ve bought before, it looked like an industrial cotton, more suitable for home furnishings. The colour was also very drab, not a cream and certainly not a white. The dress looked dated, returned immediately, even though it was at a sale price. Disappointed ☹️

Disappointed in this dress. Fit a bit too snug and neckline too high.

I love this dress - it’s versatile, comfortable ,practical and pretty. The fabric is nice and washes well. You can dress it up or down - perfect for during the day and accessorising in the evening

Smaller than expected and quite narrow neck openin

I ordered this a size up because I wanted a loose fit. It just about fits perfectly so I'd say this runs small. The neck opening is also somewhat smaller than usual. Bit confused as to why this is the case. I bought it mainly as a layer to wear underneath a couple other white dresses that are slightly too see-through for my liking so I never intended for this to be a dress in its own right - personally I think it looks too much like underwear and is too short for that. But as a layer it's absolutely fine. Will see if I can get used to the neckline thing.

Colour very yellow ,not pure white, which makes it looks cheap. It looks as though it needs a good wash.

But actually it made me look as though I was wearing a tablecloth. It should have been a lovely dress but not for me. The fabric was thin even though lined it still felt thin. Probably would look great on someone else?

This is a very pretty, flattering dress. Other customers might want to know that it is fully lined, not unlined, as described on the website. I also ordered the similar black broderie anglaise dress with short sleeves and that too is fully lined although it says it is not. M&S should ensure that their descriptions are accurate: as someone who normally does not order anything that is not lined, they may be putting customers off. Unfortunately although I ordered this dress in a long it only came to mid knee and I am not tall, at 5' 4". It was also quite a snug fit overall. So sadly it was returned.
