Not a great buy

No, I don't recommend this
Material around the top has already started to tear and it’s not even half term. Not what I expected from M&S

Buying next size up for the second year for my daughter in infant school. Great for PE and regular days. Also waterproof so great for winter time.

Fell apart where sole meets shoe all around the front after two weeks of wear at school. Poor quality, for the price paid. Given full refund from m&s without difficulty.

Poor quality / assembly of product. One of the soles has completely split from the body of the shoe 2 weeks into the school term! I am returning for a refund sadly.

I've purchased several pairs of these school shoes for my Grandson, excellent value for money in comparison to twice the price from Clarks. They look vey smart and wear really well.

Stiff and uncomfortable
Originally posted on marksandspencer.com (UK)
These shoes are unbelievably stiff! I can barely open the straps out to get my daughter's feet in, the back has no give whatsoever and has been digging in to her for the last couple of months. She also seems to trip up more often when wearing them. Other styles from M&S have been fine in the past. I actually can't believe how hard and clumpy these ones seem. Need to find a replacement now which is annoying as usually shoes last her around a year.

I tried a cheaper brand thinking that I'd be able to save up. It only lasted barely 2 months. I end up buying from M&S again. My son said that it is comfortable, and based on last years experience this one should last him a good while. high recommended.

Sturdy and smart looking shoes. It is early days but they seem comfortable and well built. I am after shoes that won’t tear and with a sole that can stand the use of an active child; this pair is ticking those boxes and they look smart for school.

I bought a pair of these shoes in store for my 6 year old son. They lasted just over one week before the sole came away and they became unwearable. I was livid with myself for not keeping the receipt. I will not be buying another pair of shoes from Marks and Spencer.

After 4 weeks the shoes looks extremely tatty and the material has worn away on the inside of the foot. The material around the back/top was a poor choice as it’s all frayed and looks a mess. I have just returned the shoes today.

I wanted a hard wearing shoe but they are quite heavy and my child has complained about them a lot. I wouldn’t purchase again.

My go to school shoe

These shoes last so well and look lovely and smart. Two of my children have worn them for the past two years as their school shoes, and even when they've outgrown them, they still have plenty of life left for their younger siblings to wear them too.

Nice style but not for the price

Lovely style, however within 3 days of wearing at school the back has frade and material completely balded maybe due to friction during carpet learning or so. I would have expected them to last minimum 6 weeks. Now have to chuck them in the bin because they can't not be recycled or even donated. Very disappointed because they are very nice and my son said they feel good to walk in.

Excellent first school shoes for my son. Made from real leather and have a thick rubber sole on both the heel and front of the shoe to prevent scuffing which has so far worked brilliantly! Good quality and fit.
