No, I don't recommend this
These shoes are very well made and excellent value for money compared to similar offerings from competitors- I know because I had to replace pairs frequently when the “leather” (clearly PVC) peeled like a banana So I gave these a go and after weeks of a typical 12 year old using them unsympathetically they aren’t showing any signs of wear. I can wipe over with a damp cloth and polish later and they come up as good as new. There are reinforcements / protective elements in the right places and they are in the sweet spot for looking like a shoe but also being a trainer that satisfy school policy and what a child deems acceptable to wear. Can’t fault them. I’m going to buy another pair in the next size up. I anticipate I will get a lot more than a 6 week term out of the existing pair which was the case with those from another high street retailer and I’ll be replacing the m and s ones because they are too small and not through dropping to bits!

Similar to branded version, but fraction of price!

Look very similar to a branded version but at a fraction of the price. Purchased in the Black Friday reductions as a spare back up pair (when normal school shoes have been covered in mud or soaked through whilst paying football!) My son is usually a size 7 so I purchased a 7.5 thinking hot would allow for growth, however, the shoes are not much difference in size to his current pair so may not get as much use as I originally thought and hoped for. I would suggest sizing up a full size as sizing is a bit off compared to the branded version.

Good value but doesn't last a school year

Good value school shoe which will last a couple of terms but not a full school year. Comfortable to wear but the sole thins quite quickly.

Soft leather, flexible body and firm soles. Could be our favourite school shoes yet. Let's see how long they last.

Very happy with these school shoes which manage to be trainer-ish whilst still fulfilling the school's no-logo 'polishable' shoes requirement. These are holding up really well for my fairly active 11-year-old. They were also very affordable which is great given that his feet are going up a size every few months at the moment. He's soon going to have grown out of the largest size, alas.

Boys school shoes

Soft comfortable school shoes, appreciate the flat flexible sole and the choice of widths. Good for feet that want to spread out compared to most shoes styles, but could still be less pointed as in order to stop my son’s wide toes being squashed in have had to upsize and put extra insoles in. Our preferred style were out of stock hence choosing these as second choice.
