Button Detailed Relaxed Midi Dress

This is a lovely dress and a beautiful shade of brick red. I originally ordered a 12 regular size but after reading the details thought it would be too long. I then ordered a 12 petite although I don’t usually wear petite size. This was just right so I recommend sizing down. It is a dress which can be worn casually or dressed up.

This is a stylish, stunning dress and feels comfy when wearing and looks great on. The dropped waist and looser relaxed fit is perfect for a pear shape....lending flare and enhancing the dress's overall elegant look. If you are in two minds whether to buy...don't be. Go for it and I hope, like myself, you'll love it.

I haven't bought a dress from M&S for years. This one caught my eye in the shop. I love the crepe material and the loose hang of it. I does run big but it gives it that lovely drape and swing. The color is more a burnt orange than red. It does feel retro and such a nice change from those skin tight stretch fabric pieces usually seen in the shops now. I think it is a winner and if m&S did more like this, I would buy a lot more from them.

Love everything about it. Really comfortable to wear. Like style, fabric and colour.

...but, I love this dress - I can't wear it yet, because it's July and too hot - but, I know I will get a lot of wear out of it later in the year. I did wish it was a little cheaper - because I'd buy the cream coloured one as well. Can we have some more colours, perhaps later in the year? PS. I haven't washed it yet because I haven't worn it!

I think this is a lovely dress. To me the colour is like red wine, quite subtle and not drab. The shape is basically A-line, but the material is heavy enough to hang straight, like a column, but with a slight flare at the end. The sleeve is elasticised at the wrist so the sleeves can be pushed up, and stay pushed up, unlike rolled up sleeves which suddenly unroll. I have found that if I push the sleeve up to the elbow, the top of the sleeve then comes down over the elbow and makes a pretty bell shape. The dress can be formal enough for evening wear, or you can get those sleeves up, undo the tie and unfasten as many buttons as you fancy. Then casual enough for every day wear. I bought my usual size, so the column remained a column and showed no bulges. . It wasn't a tent, but perhaps wider than some people would have liked.. You'll have to try it.

I read the reviews on this. I guess it’s all about preference. I really like the easy style. Definitely size down! I like the colour, more of a terracotta than red. I bought for work as I could throw it on and not think about it. Easy dress with a vintage 80’s feel.

Almost everything is nice about this dress. Pretty, flattering style, nice material and sweet row of buttons.BUT ... the colour is truly dingy. The photo shows a good, clear red but in reality the colour looks faded, as if the garment had been washed too many times. I can’t see this shade flattering anyone. Would happily buy this in black, spruce green or clear blue. If you do decide to try it, size down. I’m usually a 14 but found a 12 fitted well.

Lovely rich, rusty colour and versatile trans-seasonal style that will take you from summer, with the sleeves pushed up and the top buttons undone, through to winter if worn with boots. The fabric is also fine enough to belt without bulk if you want a more defined shape. That's the good stuff. The bad is that I tried it on in a hurry and didn't notice until I got home that the hem was uneven: not just shorter at the front than the back but longer on one side than the other. I'm a loyal M&S customer and but I feel as if everything I've tried to buy there lately has been a near miss in terms of fit or finish. Lumpy seams, gaping pockets, just too much material in unflattering places. In other words, good ideas let down by poor execution. M&S is still one of my first ports of call for clothes but - sorry - the patchy quality control is beginning to put me off.
