A pack of two pleat front school trousers comes with a durable finish that repels water and stains, ready for the playground and the dinner hall. Supercrease technology helps them stay smart through busy school days, and the hem can be let down by a further 3cm to allow for growth. The waistband adjusts to suit different ages, from an elasticated back for younger children to a flat front with zip for older ones. Made by M&S, these trousers are built for the demands of the school day and designed to keep their shape. Practical, polished and ready for the demands of the school week.
Sizes up to age six have an elasticated waistband. Sizes from age six to 10 years have an elastic back with a hook bar and zip, while sizes from 10 years have a hook bar and zip. The clever grow-proof hems can be unpicked and pressed for an extra 3cm of length when needed, helping trousers last longer as your child grows.

Perfect but not true to size, my son is 9, wears 14-15 , after 3 exchanges 16-17 fitted him. Not much give around waist and not much difference in waist to smaller sizes

I’ve had real trouble finding trouser which offer space and movement for my 15yr old son. He loves sport and has a thick set of thighs and other trousers have split far too easily. These are perfect. The pleat gives that extra space and flexibility for movement. Highly recommended

M&S seem to be the only retailor selling larger sizes in black school trousers all year round. Good quality, do crease when washed but you can get away with not ironing if you prefer. I hang mine straight away on the line or hanger. Quick press now and then.
