No, I don't recommend this
Always wear knee high socks in winter so was pleased to get these locally rather than buying on line. Very disappointed though. As they are a ridged pattern and also have quite a prominent seam across the toes they are not comfortable to wear. They also don't seem to have much 'give' in them and I feel they would slip down during wear. Have sent them to the charity shop.

I recently bought a 2 pair pack of these socks and regret buying them. Seems to be a trend with M&S clothing where there is more than one item, that one of the pair is a poor size. These socks are no exception. They are size 6/8 and one is 3 inches shorter than the other. Poor manufacturing and quality control that M&S should look into for their customers. Won't buy a multi pack again. See the photo.

Not knee high, even on a short lady!

Ive just bought these online ahead of winter 24/25. Unfortunately, they are not the same as the ones I bought last year. I am petite with slim, size 4 feet but I bought size 6-8 again as I want them loose and comfortable for bed socks. They were perfect last year, came right up to my knees and slighly baggy! This year, they are about 2" short of my knees, which means the top edge sits right on the widest part of my calf and is tight. The foot is a snug fit too. I will keep them as they will do for ordinary winter socks. But if you are taller than my 5' with feet bigger than size 4, even the size 6-8 will probably be too small for you.

Short and tight

I’ve ordered several pairs of these socks in the past and always found them to be excellent. However, despite ordering the same size: knee high length and wide fit, they only came to my lower calf and were far too tight. Not sure what went wrong, but I will buy in store in future.

Warm & they don’t fall down

Bought for my 98 year old mum who has cold feet and lower legs even in the warmer weather. She is delighted and they do seem to keep her as warm as she is ever going to be!

I agree with a customer that these socks do not wear well. They become baggy when washed after three or four times and I am continuously picking up black bobbles of the carpet....the inside foot part wears quickly and I'd advise turning the socks inside out before wearing in order to retrieve any bits. They are also no warmer than other thinner knee length socks I have.

Cosy warm and not too big or too thick. Properly snug but not sweat inducing on the toes which is a bonus. Deducted one point as keep falling down my legs although it hardly seems to matter to me but some might find it annoying.

Had these last year & they wash & wear brilliantly so it was a no brainer to reorder another pack of 2. They stretch up to the knee & are soft & stretchy. Warm but not too thick. Hate ankle socks this time of year or ones that are halfway up my calf & fall down.

Very soft and comfortable and suit me under a pair of trousers. However I wouldn’t class them as thermal on the feet.
