Bought a size up for grandson, who is average size, but these are only just a fit. Tried the next size up but these fell down on the waist. He liked the style of the trousers, so I have kept them. I feel they would have been better with some stretch in the material and an elasticated waist, rather than the drawstring.

My 6 year old was happy with these as a comfortable but slightly smarter and more grown up alternative to joggers. They fit well. Sadly he ripped a pair on the first wear so disappointed given the ripstop description!

The fabric looks better in the olive green than the black but they both look a bit like active wear outdoor trousers - kind of a cheap look to the cotton. I also thought the darker pair was navy (the product is just described as "KHAKI MIX" which is SOOOOOOO unhelpful).
