Beautiful dark board. So pleased with it, looks great on my counter top. As other reviewers commented, the anti-slippery thing that comes with it to put underneath is rubbish, doesn't secure the board at all....

Really nice chopping board

This chopping board is really nice if a little heavy. Looks really good in my kitchen. Two gripes. No. one it looks as if it has been sanded down using a rotary sander which doesn’t seem right as you can see the marks in certain lights. No. two who thought that the mat supplied with the board was non slip?? It is useless but has made a good liner for a small cupboard I have. I have a proper rubberised mat that I cut to size and that works really well. I really like the cutouts for putting veg or other things in. All in all I do like it and would have given it five stars if not for my two small gripes.

Great Main Item, but poor post sale service!

The board itself is lovely but the anti slip Matt offers no anti slip to the board, it slides around constantly on any surface with the slightest touch. Have tried to contact customer services about this on multiple occasions and essentially fobbed off each time. Which is a shame for such an expensive purchase.

Large and substantial, two sided and I’m sure it will last. Would have been nice to receive a sample of the oil recommended to use with it. The non slip sheet was nice to receive but it doesn’t work on my work surfaces which are granite. I purchased it as plastic boards I believe are not a healthy option. Very stylish. Need to find some oil now!

It's hard to wax lyrical about a chopping board because let's face it, they all serve the purpose for which they are intended but I really do love this board. It looks great and appears to be good quality, it's a big board and a nice height off the worktop. I like the cut outs for scraps of waste and the fact that it's double sided. If you're like me and love cooking but generally hate food prep, treat yourself to this and make a tedious job a touch more bearable!

The board itself looks great, very heavy and seemingly good quality. However, on one side, (both sides have different designs/uses) when any weight is placed on it, the board rocks from side to side. The “non slip” mat is completely useless. In truth, this design is actually pretty dangerous. If you chop anything with any force (on that one side) the board will move and spin (even with mat underneath!) I believed this to be a one-off manufacturing issue but after receiving a replacement, I can see it’s a product issue. Wouldn’t recommend.

Lovely heavy board with a slip mat included as an added bonus. One star removed however as the board had an awful smell when it was unpacked which didn’t disappear after leaving it out to ‘air’. Whether that was the oil used to seal it I don’t know. I washed it in hot soapy water and re-sealed it with the oil I use on my other wooden boards and it’s fine now.

This is fine for chopping fruit and vegetables and carving cooked meat. However, it is too big to easily fit in my sink to scrub , or fit in a drawer to store. I leave it out on the work surface and mainly use it for vegetable preparation.

Received in a few days expected. Item well wrapped and protected from damage. On opening was pleasanty surprised to see it had been oiled however. That said it wasnt beading enough so gave a couple of coats using a good quality mineral oil over a couple of days before first use. Now water beads nicely and board will not split if washed and dried properly - which is a common outcome for those expecting wood to require the same level of care as plastic! The only two criticiscm, if I can call them that, which I would knock of 1/2 star only if I could is: 1) There is no mention of the wood type which for me was important. I did some research and was pleasantly surprised at the choice so M&S please do state. For this price this is a bargain.... 2) The board being flippable is great but results in it easily sliding on a smooth worktop - not ideal when it comes to carving a joint and is noisy when choping as no sound insulation. It would have been nice if they put some rubber feet somehow but appreciate this would be harder to do on a board that is used both sides. They clearly recognise the issue by including a matt but this matt is actually a plate rest as I have exactly the same in a different colour. It doesnt help in any meaningful way. I will find some small low profile rubber feet I can sknock/screw in to make it more stable and less noisy when chopping.
