Stormwear™ Tapered Leg Walking Trousers

I have a previous version of these trousers, which are better, hence only 3 stars. The good points of this new version are that the trousers are comfortable, in a good fabric, which is showerproof and quick-drying, very practical for daily use, and the trousers look good on. However, in comparison to the previous version, the trousers have undergone 'shrinkflation'. The leg length is too short for a walking trouser, leaving a gap between boot and hem, which is exacerbated by movement/climbing over stiles/rough terrain, and not a desirable feature for avoidance of ticks. The older version also had slightly more leg room throughout the leg, aiding the drying process after a rain shower, whereas being slightly narrower, this newer version clings more when wet, giving potential for chafing. As other reviews have said, please consider making these trousers in a choice of lengths - they are a walking trouser, and to avoid gapping, the nature of the activity makes length an important factor. A choice of colours would also be great, with a couple of brighter colours - being visible is a safety factor for use in outdoor environments. Don't get me wrong, this is a good product, and I am using my new trousers, but it could be a great product, and I am getting fed up with manufacturers skimping on fabric.

Very pleased with my purchase. Light weight and good fit. Not sure if I read all the product details before purchasing but for the prospective customers out there, the bottom of the trouser legs can be gathered in or left loose to appear as a straight leg trouser. In all of the online photos the trousers look gathered at the ankle, so if that’s putting customers off rest assured they can be worn two ways.

Really love these trousers. So comfortable and good quality. The tab the bottom to adjust the length is a great touch.

Perfect in every way. The fit was spot on so they're super-comfortable. I love the ankle adjustments for boots. The quality is excellent, real value for money. I can't wait to test them out on my walking holiday next month.

These are fantastic trousers for hiking and walking. Very comfortable. Lots of pockets. Will be buying a second pair when I can.

Fit well - although a little high rise for me so will fold down the top band. Like the feel and hope they prove to be comfortable to walk in as not done a long walk in them yet. Don’t mind the pockets in the legs. Can be expanded at the ankle and worn over the walking boot or ‘tucked in’.

These trousers are perfect. They are lightweight and stretchy, showerproof, really comfortable, for walking, an exercise class, travelling, going out for lunch in town. After I bought the first pair in store, I ordered another online. I might get a third!

Nothing wrong with the quality but definitely short in the leg. Sadly had to return them. Shame that they don't do a longer length. For reference 5ft8".

My second pair of these. Comfortable and warm for walking. Quick drying so all weather wear. Handy zipped pockets to keep mobile and keys for when dog walking.

This is the second pair I have bought as they are to comfortable and look smart. The most recent pair are definitely shorter in the leg by about 4cms and I considered sending back as in the cusp of being short. I’m only 5’ 3” so consider this when ordering.

Really comfy. Wear them every time I go on a hike. Useful pockets that are secure. Wash and dry really well.
