Nice school culottes

However they do come up large. My granddaughter will be 11 later this month and I purchased that age but they were very large around the waist- consequently they were returned and changed .

granddaughter loves them , so that is all that counts, but I did read the reviews and noted that there was no adjustments on the waist and they were on the large size but made an allowance for that, so can not complain and have ordered a second pair

I bought the 11-12 size for my daughter which we had bought other items in that size. These were far too big and there was no elastic adjust the waist also, they were just a weird shape and did not properly Don’t buy them

These look smart and are a practical cover-up for a girl who doesn't like wearing trousers. Only gripe about them; no adjustability in the waistband.

Sizing is wrong

Liked the idea of these no fuss shorts for my daughter starting school, but the sizing is totally wrong. My daughter is 5 and a half and average size for her age. Based on reviews I ordered 4-5. Tried on and waist was huge with no way to tighten. Returned and ordered 3-4, but this size was also far too big. Not convinced the next size down would be any better and can’t bring myself to order a 2-3 for a 5 year-old!

Good if you can get the size right

My petite and slim nearly 5 year old is in size 2-3years. The height in the sizing is a much more representative guide than the age. That would put my daughter between 2-3 and 3-4 but as a lot of people have said, the waist is in no way adjustable and so is also reflected in the sizing down needed. These are LONG too, almost too long to be practical for climbing, riding bikes and playing, which is what the advantage is supposed to be over a dress.

I'll repeat what other reviews have said, absolutely ridiculously BIG!!! My daughter is an average sized 10 year old but after taking note what other people had said ordered a variety for size choice. We have kept the aged 6-7 however they are still hanging off her! They would definitely benefit from having an adjustable waist as other typical school wear does. Regardless of size they are a nice and practical piece of school uniform and my daughter loves them (After getting over her hysterics of what size she needed!) I can't comment yet on washing and durability.

Not the usual uniform standard. It didn't have the adjustable elastic around the waist. Too large and tough material

As per other reviews- the fit is very big

Usually there is an adjustable waist on school items, I dont know why it's not available on these as I may have kept them. But the waist is very big and therefore I'll be returning them.

The style is very strange. The cut is wrong and they sit very low on my daughter. Not at all flattering.

My granddaughter is not stick thin and love sports. These culottes are ideal. They are elasticated at the back so allow for a tummy and quick to put on and off , no fiddley buttons.

The sizes of M&S school skirts and culottes is ridiculous. These were 3-4 and were way too loose on my almost 5 year old.

Great fit, nice length. My daughter is quite short so they came down to the knee, fitted lovely around the bottom. Waist band is elasticated and so a bit of room for growth. Great fit for her size, had I bought a bigger size they would not have fit. Bought an 8-9 hoping they would fit, my daughter wears 8-9 in stretchy jeggins etc. but around the waist she would have needed 9-10 for something fitted, luckily this was not too fitted. My daughter is an average size, however if your child is very slight you may need to go for a size smaller. Lovely shorts, very smart.... Would buy again.

My daughter is not small for her age and yet these are FAR to big and no adjustable waistline which I feel is must for small children.

Great quality, but I'd advise you try on. I had to order as they were not in store near me. The original pair I ordered were way to big for the age group. My daughter loved them so I reordered in a smaller size.

We like the style of these culottes. But my daughter is 8 and a half and the size 8 was massive so we returned them for the smaller size. We decided to keep them, as she likes the style and luckily I am good with a sewing machine. I had to take in the waist band for her. The elastic along the back is not tight enough so otherwise they would fall down very easily. It would be better if they had the adjustable elastic sewn in like many other of the school styles.
