Our old one lasted well under a lot of use! Bought this and hope it lasts as long. So far so good! Sturdy, works well.

Not the best corkscrew I've had.

No, I don't recommend this
I bought this to replace an old corkscrew which worked fine, but from which the black coating was starting to flake, so I was concerned that it would end up in the wine. I bought this one mainly because there was no black coating to flake off - but now I'm getting cork in the wine instead! This is because it doesn't seem to "bite" very well when first inserted, so has to be screwed down quite hard, resulting in the cork flaking. As most wine comes in screw-top bottles these days, it's not a huge problem - the only issue is that the wines that do come with proper corks are the better & more expensive ones. I may have to use a tea-strainer!

High Quality Corkscrew

Having bought cheaper corkscrews from well known supermarkets they all had to be returned due to either breaking or not performing as expected, i.e. the cork was being ripped apart during opening. I finally opted for this more expensive M&S version and I'm not disappointed. It has a nice "weighty" feel and does exactly what it is designed to do. I highly recommend.

I tried a similar corkscrew from another shop that was flimsy and couldn't open the bottle. This one is very strong so should last. It's rather large.

Very happy with this as my old one had broken in the cork. I needed one urgently so using the click and collect to my local M & S was ideal.

Not fit for purpose

No, I don't recommend this
First time I used this it just chewed the Cork into pieces and I had to resort to using a thin blade. Second time it did remove the Cork but made a large hole causing small bits of cork to fall in the bottle. I won't be trying it again!
