Side Tie Sleeveless Shirt Midi Dress

Each year, I have tried to replace an antique summer dress which I bundled into a case, washed repeatedly, slung on quickly when someone was at the door, looked good in and was cool to wear. I found the answer in this dress!

I purchased this dress online for my holiday. I was delighted to find it fitted perfectly as so often dresses are too long and I have to have them shortened. I purchased a regular size 8 and am 5’3”. The colour is lovely, very fashionable, and the design simple yet stylish: a perfect holiday dress in a soft fabric that falls nicely. A great choice! It’s packed and I am ready to go.

Lovely dress and the side tie I found to be very flattering . Bought the blue so may go and buy orange as well , Under the arms was a little bit big so had to alter slightly.

I first bought this dress in orange, size 12, and loved it but was disappointed as the arm holes gaped. I sized down to a 10 and it's perfect. I then bought blue as well. They look like a peachy, thick silk and hardly crease. They can be dressed up or down and the front tie and asymmetric style is flattering and current. I'd love this dress in more colours.

This dress is pretty good for the money but the armholes are quite wide, so bra shows, i have a fuller figure so not sure who these arm holes are designed for.

I absolutely loved this dress but when I tried on in store one side did not hang properly and there appeared to be an issue with the sewing of the seam. Tried on another three in this store in both colours and they were exactly the same. Went to another store and tried on another three dresses and they were exactly the same. This fault was very obvious and I did bring it to the attention of staff. Had there been no issue I would have purchased one in each colour.

loved the style, fabric and look but its obviously more suited to a straighter figure than mine. with 18 size hips it does not drape as well as image on website and being a little taller the 'midi' style is not midi...very disappointed

Ordered in orange first on reading the reviews went a size down. Bit snug - ordered usual size 10 in blue perfect

I love this dress, the colour (I bought navy) and the material. It fits beautifully, BUT one side seem is straight and the other is crooked, does not lay flat and has a slightly rushed appearance making it look like the stitching is too tight. Looking at the picture online you can see this and it was the same on the display in store. Unfortunately, this is an inperfection I can't live with, so had to return.

I'm happy with the basic dress but I ended up getting the sewing kit out to 'fine tune' this dress. The photos don't clearly really show that the side split goes half way up the thigh so that's been sewn down a couple of inches as I plan to wear this to work. Also the A-symmetrical hem just does not work and looks out of kilter - it just flaps around on one knee - so that's come off and I've evened up the hem. However, the fabric is great and the colour and basic shape is just right. I can see me wearing this in and out of work with a change of shoes so although it seems a bit extreme chopping and sewing bits, I'm hoping for a lot of wear out of this dress. I'm currently losing weight so the soft tie at the front will help ekk some more wear out of it as I go (fingers crossed). I just wish M&S would come up with straight forward less fussy designs. This is a great dress that didn't need flappy, splits added to it.

Unfortunately I had to return the dress as it did not suit a pear shaped figure. My tummy distorted the seam at the front. Would suit anyone who can wear a shirt dress. Lovely soft fabric easy to wear. Did not find a problem with size of arm holes Bought on line as style not available in my local store.

Bought this for my Mum, she loves it! The fit and style are perfect. Her new go to summer dress.

Saw this dress in the shop in both the navy and the orange and thought the style looked classy and very versatile, so I tried on both colours in my normal size 14. The colours are lovely and I thought I had struck lucky but sadly the armholes were huge on both dresses and the fit was generally poor on both dresses. Now I always think that people are being over fussy when the talk about fit, especially when you consider the fair pricing on Marks and Spencer dresses. However on this occasion I have to agree with many of the comments on this dress: the fit is poor, armholes cut too low and yet skimpy on the back of the skirt with an awkward side tie and too much material at the front. Such a shame the material is lovely and drapes well, perhaps someone with a less curvy figure and reasonably tall might suit this style better than me. Shame.

I was extremely disappointed with the fit. I am normally a size 12 but this dress was massive. The armholes were huge and gaped. There was also a lot of surplus fabric to the sides of the dress. Saly going to return. My advise if ordering online would be to size down.
