Under the Sea Pure Cotton Bedding Set

Great bedding, reversible and good value for Money. I like that it’s a zip closure.

My 3yo daughter loves this set and I love the vibrancy of the colours against the blue background. It has washed pretty well over the past 7 months, needs only a light touch with the iron if I don’t remove it from the dryer on time. What I can’t seem to get rid of though is this really weird coating on the duvet. For lack of a better descriptor it feels waxy. I have other duvets from M&S bought at the same time that I wash in the same load that do not feel like this. I assume it is some sort of colour fastener to keep the black black and the neon pinks and yellows from fading but it feels sort of sticky next to the skin. The reverse that’s just fish has almost lost this feeling but the front with the earth motif remains stubbornly sticky.

Bedding smells very strong even after first wash. I had prewashed the bedding before my son used it but he had an allergic reaction within an hour of first using it. I don’t know if it’s the antibacterial coating, he had a similar reaction to some other m&s bedding not pre washed, which resolved once washed. He absolutely loves the set though so I washed it at 90 degrees and since then the smell has gone and no allergic reaction!

The quality was excellent and our grandson loved it.

Bought this quilt cover for my grandson expecting a quick wash, dry, & iron would see it ready for the next visit. When dry it is very creased requiring quite a hot iron. Even with a moderate iron the design starts to come off, so it’s far from a perfect finish, creases still being visible. Reminiscent of old Indian bedspreads, lovely design, poor quality cotton. Like the zip though as long as it doesn’t break!

Bought this duvet for grandson’s bed. He loves it. It is so colourful and bright. Another good buy from M+S
