Pleased with Purchase

Having bought the navy, I then ordered the sage. Shirts I mostly use as a cardigan/jacket with various style T vests underneath, which I find very useful for casual days with jeans or straight style cotton skirts. It was a struggle to get the buttons undone but I rarely do them up, perhaps only two or three, so not a problem. Happily I don't need to tackle the wrist buttons as my hands go straight through. This outfit I will wear any time of the year, I just judge on temperature, as our weather patterns increasingly change. I don't feel the cold like some and prefer to keep cool, so the thinner version of corduroy is fine for me but retains the look. At the sale price I feel I have a bargain.

Lovely relaxed fit shirt

I bought this shirt in navy and it looks great - the cut is a flattering relaxed shape that hangs well, not massive but roomy enough to hide bulges. Perfect for in-between weather when it's not warm enough for a t-shirt. An easy to wear shirt that I know I'll wear often. I hope M&S will do this cut in summer fabrics.

I bought this in tan in the sale and it's very good value. It's not thick corduroy though and it's certainly on the relaxed side, so unless you want it to look big, I would go a size down. I bought the 6 and had to return the 8 as it looked so big. Will look great with jeans and boots or trainers. The buttons are a bit stiff at first. Lots of sizes still available so would definitely recommend.

Sage Green Shirt

The green colour is slightly darker in real life than on the photos but I had read that on previous reviews so I was not disappointed. It looks great tucked into a pair of blue jeans and the fabric is super-soft.

Nice shirt. Fits well. Bought in green and raspberry. Like both colors. The green was a little darker than it appeared in the picture.

The colour and fabric choice are really good: lovely to find some colours for "Autumn" complexions.as much of the SS20 palette is cool colours. Normally need a size 16 top but this shirt was too large on the shoulders, bust, midriff and waist areas. Perhaps the size 14 would have fitted better but the shape was very boxy which does not suit me. Attracted by the colour, fabric and good discount I paid less attention to the fit details: Too many aspects to alter the shirt to fit.

No, I don't recommend this
This was bought in the sale but I wouldn’t have been happy if I’d paid full price as it is quite flimsy and doesn’t look at substantial as the picture. I’d expected something better.

I bought this in sage, tan and ecru and am very happy with all three. The fabric is so soft and the needlecord very fine, so the overall effect is rich colour and velvety texture. The fabric is quite light in weight but I like that as it means I can wear the shirts tucked in as well Fit is perfect, The collar is neat and sits nicely. Absolute bargain at the price. I haven't washed them yet so can't comment on that but note that another reviewer says they wash well.

I'm very pleased with this. I like the colour and the feel. It's true, as some reviewers have said, that it's not as thick as previous incarnations of the cord shirt, but it's very soft. I'd prefer it to be a bit longer and not so up-at-the-sides, but I still like it.

Soft needlecord, just the right thickness for a shirt (don't like my shirt blouses too bulky and this is just right). Can be worn over a top or just buttoned up. A little bit generous but not baggy or shapeless. Collar sits right too, not tight. I have ordered another colour, as I am so pleased with this.

A sale bargain so great value. I hesitated between sizes 12 and 14 given some comments that this shirt comes up big. I am generally a size 12 in a regular fit but went for a 14 as I like things loose. I made the right decision, the 14 is perfect for me. If anything, the sleeves are a little long but I would always roll the cuffs anyway. A really nice fine cord shirt. Very pleased

Nice enough to buy in two colours

I got this in sale in blue and pink in two different sizes, as due to weight loss was unsure what to order. The smaller sized blue one fitted perfectly. I liked it enough to send back the larger size pink one and order in a smaller size. It does crease a bit but it is really a casual shirt, so I can live with that. I found the buttons a bit fiddly and tight but that has eased with use and most times I wear it open over a t shirt. The pink is a nice muted raspberry colour and will go well with many things in my wardrobe.
