Pure Cashmere Coat

A nice coat, looks smart and so far (worn 10ish times) is wearing well. I'm 6'4", normally a 17.5" collar and the XL fits ok. The body length is good but the sleeves are a touch short and show some cuff. I don't mind this when worn with a shirt but would look odd with a t shirt. I have broad shoulders (literally, sadly not figuratively) and the fit across the back is very good. Overall pretty happy.

This overcoat is a top quality product , well made with high value Italian spun Cashmere fibre. The Medium fit is perfect for me, 5` 6" tall , slim / medium build . I have been disappointed with the quality of some recent purchases of denim jeans but well done M&S selectors with this, don`t know how you have done it for the price.

The description for this coat continues to define the fit as regular, when it really ought to tailored. After trying on the coat at home I concluded that it was rather too tight round the waist for a man of my age, so I returned it. This fad for tailored and slim fit must be a real problem for most men over the age of thirty. I know I struggle to find regular fit jackets and coats, and what is usually on offer is uncomfortable even though I have a thirty two inch waist. Otherwise the quality of the coat is superb and it is remarkably good value for something that one would normally expect to pay over a thousand pounds for. Apart from the fit it's main shortcoming is that it is rather short, which I suppose is another fad.

I am a big fan of Marks and Spencer clothing anyway, but this coat is just stunning, it pays to be guided by the measurement chart on the website, i.e. I take a 17.5 collar so I ordered the XL size coat, whereas I would have normally ordered the L. The XL fits perfectly. The coat may seem a little expensive but if you compare it to a well know maker of this jacket, it is less than half the price. The secret is ordering the right size.
