The fabric is like a good suit jacket which gives it an expensive look. I’m between a 12 and 14 in M&S tops so tried on both. I bought the 14 which gaped very slightly at the armpit as the 12 wouldn’t even fasten up. I’m very happy with overall look and feel.

I ordered this as a possible item to wear when participating in our choir performances in summer, our requirements being black trousers and black top. This looked very smart online and I ordered in 2 sizes. My usual size was the best fit. It is a very nicely tailored garment and the fabric is good, and I liked the pretty edging which softens the overall effect. The fabric is quite thick meaning it won't be suitable in the hottest of settings, but this also means the waistcoat will keep its shape well and look smart for longer. I haven't worn it yet so can't comment on its 'washability'. I have taken one star off because I think it's quite expensive, so I hope it's a garment that lasts well..
