I bought these smart school shoes for my grandson as he had outgrown the previous pair in the same style. He has found them comfortable and strong-wearing as he walks to school in all weathers and has found no trouble with them. Being cleaned and polished regularly has assisted in keeping the shoes looking good.

Bought these for my son. I love the fit, look , smartness and it's so easy to put on, my son is a non verbal autistic child. He loves it! What else can I say?

Better than Clarks-value, comfort, style, quality

I never buy Clarks school shoes anymore. M&S school shoes just seem better quality, more classic styling that fits with strict school uniform requirements, and a much better price. I can’t fault these shoes at all.

These are the only shoes that have ever lasted my son a whole school year. Brilliant and he walked everyday to and from school, can’t recommend enough

I bought these shoes for my grandson for school and he says they are so comfortable and look smart too. He is delighted to have Velcro straps as he no longer has to worry about laces which took time to tie. A great success!

Not built to last

I bought these shoes for my son mid October and already after 15 weeks at school they are completely worn with holes in the sole and the stitching coming away at the tongue. The style is great and they are very comfortable but the quality isn't there for a pair of boys school shoes.

By Christmas these were pretty worn put and in Jan came away at the seam to have a hole. We have been getting these for the last 4 years and hey usually last almost the whole year.

Bought in September 2018....shoe has come away at the side to let in the icey cold wet weather by Jan 2019. It's expensive enough raising children without throwing away money on poor quality shoes.

Oh dear M & S

After trying many types of school shoes ranging from lasting a week (bhs) to lasting 6 months (clarkes) then trying M & S and them lasting 9 or 10 months, we have been buying them for the last 5 years and have been very happy. Now it seems the quality has been sacrificed, they used to have leather inners, not now, now the entire shoe looks cheap and the foam inner is corrugated and not wearable. We bought online and took them back the day after they arrived and checked the in-store stock and all the shoes we checked had equally corrugated inners... Customer lost.
