Perfect for wedding and fussy boys

I thought I’d pull a double whammy and purchased these for attendance at a wedding and then they will be used for school for spring term. I have 2 boys, 1 is very fussy and fashion conscious. These may not be the sturdiest of school shoes but they have a simple smart but sporty design. Both pairs fitted true to size. I’m not sure how well they will hold up but I would have ordinarily bought a more sturdy style.

Bought these for my Daughter as she walks to school and back each day and needed a comfortable, warm, stylish shoe - not easy to find for a 12 year old girl! She's really happy with these, no breaking in needed due to padded heel and soft inner.

Picked these up for my football playing 7 year old son after his £60 ones were full of holes after the first term of school. I have high hopes for the durability of these shoes, but of course only time will tell. For now, what I can see is that they are comfortable, well fitting and perfect for an active 7 year old who insists on laces rather than velcro. The only negative I have found so far is that the aglets on the end of the shoe laces have already come off and he has had them for a week.

Lovely shoes but AWFUL quality

My son had a pair of these in September which he loved, as looked good and were comfortable, but in just 3 months these were coming apart with the sole falling off and a hole in the inner lining. Hoping it was a dodgy pair I’ve replaced these with the identical shoe and size, and after just 10 wears are again showing signs of excess wear. Simply awful quality. Please do not be fooled by the past good quality of M&S, we will be going to Clark’s again next time.

My daughter really struggles to find shoes that aren’t slip ons or pumps as she prefers the more trainer type leather shoes. These are ideal. Smart, plain, comfortable and able to polish. Unfortunately, after only 2 weeks wear, the sole on one completely detached from the shoe! We’re trying to repair as mid week but if it doesn’t set we will be returning!! Very bad quality shoe and reading other reviews it’s happened to others.....

my son was desperate to move on from a well know well fitted school shoe brand that he had had from reception ... these are cooler, and super comfy as they have a cushioned sole - which he loves. from a quality point of view i am not so sure - i was a little disappointed that the black metal coating where the laces feed through scuffed off in the first couple of weeks but so far they have survived the first half of the term ... time will tell and ill revise my review if any change.

Show lasted 10 days before sole came loose

Unfortunately this shoe looked good but hasn't been made well. My son came home from school on Day 8 of wearing these shoes and the entire front of the sole of one shoe had come loose from the shoe. M&S have refunded the price of the shoe, no quibble but the inconvenience of then needing to replace shoes on a school night in order to have something for the next day means I'd prefer a quality product instead.

This is the second or third pair of these shoes that my son has had for school. The last pair are still in really good condition just too small. I was impressed with the order service (ordered on a Saturday and picked up on the Sunday) but unfortunately now have to return. The left shoe has a scruff mark on that really should have been picked up in packing???

We have all been there! Trying to find school shoes that our teenager is happy to wear but are suitable for school uniform policy. These are perfect and great value for money. Second year of buying them and really happy with them. Well done M&S, one happy son and Mum :-)

Perfect solution for 1st year girl

My daughter spent the summer worrying about the type of 'shoes' she would be allowed to wear starting secondary school. Coming from a primary school where she could wear runners, the concept of formal shoes was completely foreign to her, and she did not want to be the one standing out amongst her peers for her odd shoes. These were the perfect combination of meeting the school requirements for black leather shoes, and meeting my daughter's requirements of looking something similar to runners and not so alien to what she was used to. Thanks M&S for solving our summer dilemma!

Reasonably priced school shoes

Ordered these for a second time as they last pretty well after two terms of absolute trashing last year. My son doesn't undo the laces, plays football in them, walks through muddy fields and they lasted just as well as considerably more expensive pairs I have purchased previously. They aren't particularly fashionable but they are a satisfactory compromise between horribly unstylish traditional school shoes and the high end trainers my son would like but the school don't allow.

One pair of shoes to rule them all!

These shoes are the only ones that my son will wear to high school as to him they are comfy, look good and won't get him bullied. If your child is starting high school I sympathise, I truly do. I know every kid is different but with schools becoming more of a fashion parade more than an educational place, these shoes just might prevent the outbreak of another tantrum when buying uniform. A cross between a skateboarding shoe and a school shoe, they are both fashion and functional. He is on his second pair now for his new term and if I can get just over 8 months out of a pair then I'd say that was a win, if I can stretch to a year I'd say I've cracked it. Well worth it, and get delivered to the store for convenient collection, the service and correspondence was fantastic. A must buy!!!!!!!.

I bought these earlier in the year and my 11 year old really liked them. He even chose to wear them on weekends as they were so comfy. We have just ordered a bigger size now he has outgrown them. It was his choice (I personally think the style is a bit bland but I am not wearing them!) They are very reasonably priced for real leather, the usual high street school shoe provider are charging £50 for school shoes which I think is outrageous! Well done M&S.

Disappointing as we’ve had these twice in the same size over the last 10 months... but this pair just don’t fit. They are like a different shoe and the heel comes out when walking. Not sure whats

Perfect school shoes for a fashinable tenage boy. Look smart with school uniform but also trendy. Well done M&S for coming up with a good quality reasonably priced shoe that a fifteen year old is happy to wear.

Bought these in September, sole on one shoe fell off by January, replaced with same shoes as the ones son wanted sole fell off 5 month later again. Not wear and tear as other sole was fine. Will not buy these shoes and and will buy elsewhere. Quality poor for what you pay

We bought these shoes last June (awkward time of year!) for my daughter when her old ones disintegrated. She is very fussy and these were the only shoes she liked. I was amazed when she was more than happy to stick with them when she started secondary school in September. They have finally disintegrated in June this year and she was so upset. I have just ordered the same ones to replace them again.
