Bought these for my 8 year old for school, at the end of his first day wearing them, the toes were all scuffed and worn. I normally prefer M&S shoes for school as they’re normally hard wearing. These were returned for a refund.

My son really likes these shoes and says that they are very comfortable. He's only been wearing them for a week so it remains to be seen how durable they are. Having spent a fortune on Clarks & Rhino shoes that only lasted a term I thought that I would give the M&S shoes a go. With 20% off I they were a really good buy compared to having to replace with another pair of Clarks shoes. If I was going to make one comment it would be that the soles don't look terribly thick but so far very pleased with them.

These shoes were bought for my grandson who is always kicking a football. He loved the style because they looked like trainers. They fitted well. His younger brother now wants a pair.... Not sure about durability as yet...t He has only had them a week.

Nice style but tongue slips

My son liked the look of these school shoes. Tried them on at home and they appeared to fit well but on wearing them to school the next day he complained that the tongue slipped around even though he tied the laces quite snugly. I have now bought some insoles which seem to have helped. Maybe next time I shall purchase the slim fit.

My son was measured 7 1/2 to 8 at another well known children’s shoe shop. Originally ordered the size 8 standard fit in these school shoes. These were to big & wide for my 13 year old son so sent them back & ordered the 7 1/2 narrow fit. These fitted fine. He’s only just had them a week but so far so good. If they last I will order again when he needs new shoes. They look smart & slightly like a trainer with protection over the front of the shoe for protection from scuffing.

I bought these for my 9 year old son to go back to school in September, and they are already in a terrible state at October half term! I’m hoping they will last until Christmas, but not sure they will. He is heavy on his feet, but all his previous Clark’s shoes have made it to Easter.

Unfortunately I will be taking these shoes back. My son's only worn them for 9 school days and already, the toe coating has peeled off and both pairs of laces are completely frayed. We can't thread them through the eyelets.

Really comfortable and durable. Wasn’t sure which fitting to get ( narrow or standard) but chose narrow as there wasn’t much difference in them and thought the narrow fit may give after a while

These shoes were perfect fit for my son who has very narrow feet. Really good quality and comfortable. My son said he had lots of compliments at school for his shoes. So very pleased with this purchase.

Had to buy 2 pairs as the 1st pair a regular fit were too wide fitting for my son I bought the Narrow Fit and these are perfect. Lovely school shoes.

I don't often write reviews but I have to say this is the first pair of school shoes that haven't fallen apart on us! We've always previously bought from the 'traditional' school shoe manufacturer but have been disspointed over the last 2 years after having to replace a few pairs from wear rather than growth. I would rather the sole wasn't quite so flat but my son liked the style and comfort and I was pleased they lasted!

These are great for active boys, especially if like mine, there’s football every lunchtime! The shoe is smart enough to not feel like a trainer, but the rubber section at the front saves the leather being scuffed. Ours have been through the wash countless times. I will confess we bought a 2nd pair half way through the school year as they were wrecked, but I don’t think any shoe could withstand the treatment my son gives his shoes, so was happy to buy the same pair again. These also encouraged him to learn to tie his shoe laces at age 6, as he didn’t want Velcro shoes any longer.

My 12 year old son is pleased with these shoes. He hasn’t worn them to school yet so I can’t comment on how long they will last but they look good quality.

By end of day 3, reinforced toe worn through

My son is quite heavy on shoes but usually we manage to get school shoes to last a half term at least! However these lasted 3 school days by Wednesday after school the reinforced toe coverings had worn through. He didn’t ride his bike this week so can’t be down to that. Really disappointing as a lot more reasonable than another well known shoe shop and they were comfortable but after 3 days at school I am sure that they shouldn’t have worn like this so makes them not good value for money!

It’s difficult to find a narrow shoe in size 8 that suit a young boy but these fit perfectly, I will be buying again in the future.
