Handwoven Panama Hat

I bought this to replace a older, (and cheaper) Panama that had shrunk. At first I was very pleased with, but when the sun shine came - it was very hot around my head, the sweatband was soon soaking with sweat. Now why - on a handmade natural product - do M&S fit a headband of obviously a non natural product with foam backing? Probably Nylon/Polyurethane, obviously man made fibres, but also - why are the materials not specified? The finish around the brim edge is rough too, in fact so is the inside of the crown, many rough ends. This spoils what should have been a decent hat and I now have to buy another replacement. Twice on the label is: "DO NOT WEAR IN THE RAIN", I don't know why, mine has blown into the pond and been hosed off more than once and is now the most comfortable it has ever been, especially when wet ;-) Feeling let down by M&S on this one, not worth the price.

The hat was part of an online purchase, and had been squashed into a box that was smaller than the brim diameter, along with other items. As such it arrived a bit battered and the ribbon was twisted and creased. Will be returning, and as it seemed a bit expensive for the quality, I won't exchange for another.

The hat is ideal for gents with fine ,thinning or non existent hair to protect from the sun. It is very stylish but slightly expensive . It would be a good idea if it came with a hat box for storage and protection for the same price .

It can be worn either at a tilt, pushed back or straight, either way the hat looks extremely stylish. This style of headwear never dates and will always be fashionable irrelevant of your age. It is well made and the stitching around the brim is neat, and of course the black band is what makes it a true panama hat. Although the description states the colour is natural it is of course the classic white of a panama hat. Truly delighted and would most definitely recommend.
