A good weight in a stretchy material that ensures a good fit. The fish tail allows good movement. Looks smart and hopefully will wash well when the time comes.

Am a size 6: fit on waist and hips excellent, but being only 5ft tall found the skirt far too long. Shame I've got to return it as I like this skirt very much.

For the price this is an excellent skirt - good quality material, lined, nice cut and length.

Very disappointed in the fabric and sizing on this skirt. I purchased a black fishtale pencil skirt from the Harrogate branch earlier this month, and ordered the navy blue based on the quality of that. Has obvioulsy already been tried by someone else, as "size notice" stitched to waistband had fallen off too. Am returning this and will expect a refund.

The look of this skirt is beatiful. It could be much improved if it were lined, especially since it is a pencil skirt, and therefore prone to ‘seating.’ It didn’t fit me well, as it is quite unforgiving over the tummy area. But for anyone with a trim tum, this is a lovely skirt.

I was looking forward to this skirt but was once again disappolnted bulky side seams and tight around the fish tail when you walked . Years ago l could always rely on m and s but over the last few years the clothes are absolutely dreadful Everything polyester , frills and flowers.

This is very nice quality - quite heavy material but stretchy so gives a good fit. My only concern is where I will wear it ...it feels just a bit too dressy/smart for work given the fishtail. If you want to feel elegant, this is the skirt & very good value.

This fishtail black skirt is lovely. Fitted a treat and looked very nice with a red M&S top I had with a black line down the front and back. It makes one's figure look good. Made me feel good wearing it.

Lovely shape but...

I could actual get into this skirt without undoing the zip which was astonishing as I am a 14/16. Loved the shape but it was too big on the hips. Rather heavy and stretchy material and I found the seam where the frill meets the skirt was right across my knees which was uncomfortable. Shame but I returned it.

I’m 5’2.... held it up against me and it came to my ankles. Didn’t even bother to unwrap from packaging. Purchased the midi length hoping it wouldn’t be too long...I was wrong. Would be ideal for work if it came to just below the knee.

Being a size 20/22 i wouldnt usually go for ponte figure hugging skirts like tbis but i am glad i did! With a slightly longer line top and cardigan this looks glamorous and very flattering. Slightly large on the waist but its stretchy so doesnt dig in. A great work option. I've ordered in both colous as its so nice on.

Lovely if you’re slim

This is a nice style but would be much better as a lined skirt with a fixed waist. I hate saying this as I’ve wanted M&S to make skirts this length for ages (and dresses too) but this skirt is quite clingy and really didn’t do my apple shape any favours. Would look lovely on a slim figure. More style this length please M&S as not many women have knees that are worthy of being shown off; I’m a fan of midi as I think it’s more elegant than shorter styles.

This skirt is great quality, the material is quite thick though very fitted so it really flattered my pear shape. Got lots of compliments when I wore it to the office. Great buy, I love it!

STYLISH SKIRT

The fabric of this skirt is superb. It's a thick, ponte fabric with a lot of stretch. I am a 10-12 in M&S but bought a size 8 in this skirt. I feel that if you can get away with going down a size it changes the sexiness of the skirt. It has enough stretch to allow you to go down a size and it then cups round your backside and is very slim going down into the fishtail part. This, to me, makes it look more stylish and plays into the real beauty of this design of skirt. Although a size 10 was, technically, the correct size, I felt this looked a little frumpy by comparison. I do wear a pair of the £6 shaper shorts underneath to give a smooth outline. These, since the January sale, are no longer available on line and I am puzzled as to why M&S should get rid of such a fantastic item which got rave reviews. You can buy the shaper short tights which are o.k. during the cold weather and have the same smoothing effect under tight skirts.

Over big on the hips - returned. Nice Style though. Bought the identical in the check which was too small , not a great deal of confidence with the sizing of m&s

Style when looking promised a lot. When put on promised nothing. Good style quality no. I also think its a shame marks do not line more of their skirts to improve quality and fit
