Flattering dress for the office or evenings out

The dress is fairly long at the longest point - not far from my ankles. I am 5’6” It is flared at the waist, so flattering on me as I am pear shaped I got this half price in a sparks sale preview so it was excellent value for money

Wow factor dress. Looks and feels fantastic and the quality is superb with a good weight to the fabric. I paid sale price but would have quite happily paid the full price.

I liked the understated design of this dress plus the combination of two colours and the unusual angles. I purchased it for half price in the sale and what a bargain. Worn with black heels this is really a stand out dress. My only personal "beef" is that it is sleeveless which I don't wear but a black shrug soon solved that dilemma! Looks far more expensive than even the original asking price! One happy customer!

Unfortunately had to return it as it did not suit me. On a taller person, it would look great.

This dress is so lovely to wear! The weight of the fabric means it hangs beautifully, no creasing or clinging. Something a little bit different too, I got lots of compliments, thank you M&S!

Loving this dress!

I love this dress' trendy simplicity. It is beautifully stitched with thick material and the skirt portion moves really nicely. I would highly recommend this dress.

Lower half fab, upper half fat!

The skirt part of this dress is good - interesting hem, heavy fabric so it moves well. It's not great that the black part is a separate fabric so the join isn't smooth... But anyway, the problem is the top part of the dress. I usually like styles with no sleeves (easier to move, looks good with a cardi over the top etc)... but this has weird vertical seams and a fairly narrow neck opening - which made my (athletic) top half look wide and busty. What? It's as if the designer was so chuffed with the skirt part that they couldn't be bothered to make the top part flattering. This would only look good on me if I wore a polo neck over the top. Returned!

Loved the style, but fabric is very heavy and solid, not drapey enough for my liking.

Lovely Dress but...

I love this dress. It fits slightly small, and is very well made. There is just one problem, the arm hole is slightly cut away underneath. For a winter dress it would be wonderful if the designers thought about this. I don't think they expect you to wear something underneath it but it does feel a bit exposed under your arm. Which if you're of a certain age you may not necessarily want to show!

Not for me

Although the dress was nice unfortunately I had to return it as I did not like the hem - the separate fabric for the asymmetrical hemline made the dress look bulky around this area. It looked fine on the model but unfortunately I am not the same shape! Nice colour and material though

I went one size up from my usual 10 to 12, because it was too tight around the chest area. Love the dress. Very comfortable, and very stylish! And washable. It is my new work dress. The only reason why I did not give 5 stars is the zipper. It is not easy to zip up a long one on the back! I am losing flexibility in my shoulders as, shall we say time goes by, and it is becoming more difficult to reach out to the zipper on the back. Will you (that is M&S designing team) please consider attaching the zipper on the SIDE of the dress in the future?

Absolutely wonderful dress with a very flattering silhouette. I am size 14, and this hides all my bulges as well as the skirt flares outwards in some lovely draped shapes. The waistband is quite high so slimming on the waist too. I wish M&S did this in other fabrics too as I would happily have more in my wardrobe. Definitely the most flattering dress i have bought since putting on weight.

Love the quality of the material hangs really well due to the weight. Great fit. Can be dressed up for a wedding or equally with boots and a cardigan for less formal. Bought with 20% off so a great bargain.

Lovely as a mid calf dress for a six footer. I'm 5.4 and it touches the floor on me. Best laugh we have had in ages. Material scratchy and thin - no lining to smotth the lumps and bumps a bit.

This dress fits perfectly and looks really expensive. The unusual hemline is quirky and adds enough interest to make the dress suitable for a wedding or party. I teamed it with a short black jacket and long black suede boots and I absolutely love it! I am only 5'3" and yet the length is perfect for me. I don't think it matters whether the dress reaches just below the knee or mid calf - it suits both.
